Q & A with coach Williams

Good stuff on skins.com. Man, I hope he stays for a few years at least!

I have the feeling that williams is going to stay and replace gibbs when he retires. This would be a win win for both the skins and williams. Williams would have a chance to learnfrom one of the best head coaches ever to play the game and when gibbs retires he will have the skill and knowledge he did not posses in his first attempt at head coaching.

I think if we start winning and becoming a contender, then he sticks around. If we go through another rough year he'll say "Hey, I can lose by myself!" as long as an owner is willing to pay him more than he gets here, he may jump.

I hope it doesn't happen, that's for sure!

I love this guy Williams. Can you ask anything more of a coach? The defensive players are playing their asses off for him. Plus I have never heard a single player say anything close to bad about him. I hope he stays and replaces Gibbs when Gibbs is ready to retire.

Don't Worry guys, NOBODY is gonna hire Gregg Williams. As good a job as he was done, and he has done a hell of a job, nobody is gonna hire him yet. He had a terrible record at Buffalo, and there are other people in line to get a shot at a heading coaching position before WIlliams. Its the same situation with the Stealers. Dic la boe is not gonna be a head coach next year because he stunk it up with BOngals, even though his D is ranked number one.

Exactly. With the way the Bill's are starting to play, I think we can count on people staying away from Williams. Not all great coordinators make great head coaches (think Norv Turner...)

I think that Williams knows that he can learn a lot from Gibbs and one day take that knowledge in over a few years and take the Redskins when Gibbs is ready to go. I really think that as long as Snyder stays out the way he has this year, Williams will be content to stay.

Plus, he makes more money here as an assistant than many head coaches in the league. I think his salary is like 2 - 2.5 mill right? Even if he does get a head coaching offer, I really can't imagine them offering him more than that, based on his recent failure in Buffalo.

I really hope Williams stays. He's been our MVP this year, and from what I've seen I'd be very happy to have him as our coach after Gibbs.
