Thumbs up Turning Points In The Season

1-the debacle in new york
2-the mn officiating and time management against dallas.
3-very bad calls in several other games, the browns, bengals, packers
4-leaving brunnell in a littlle too long.
5-gibbs learning curve to the new nfl took a little longer
6-a few free agents (barrow, daniels)did,nt pan out.
7-injuries have killed us.
at least there is a better hope for next year, especially with ramsey stepping up as the team's qb.
do most of you guys agree?

I would like to add Gregg Williams to that list. I don't think a lot of us expected our defense to be ranked #2 overall before the season started.

For sure, out of all those things, BUT....

ahead of injuries, bad calls, and the Gibbs learning curve, its pretty evident now (I know, I know, hindsight is 20/20) that the biggest event/decision for 2004 is Gibbs one, choosing Brunell, and two, Gibbs leaving him in for 9 games. I am the biggest Gibbs apologist, but I have to say, that decision has played a huge role in our season. Freakin Carson Palmer had a better year then Brunell....Hell, Krenzel, from Chicago won more games then Brunell....

I AGREE WITH AEHS77. THE LOSS OF JANSEN WAS BIG BUT THIS TEAM JUST LACKED CONFIDENCE FOR TOO MUCH OF THE SEASON .THIS TEAM JUST CANT REMEMBER HOW TO WIN. GIBBS WILL LEAD US TO THE PROMISED LAND EVENTUALLY:thumb:

Injuriies? We've had a single injury on the side of the ball that's not getting the job done. I can't blame a single problem this year on injuries. Our defense has been devestated but keeps playing strong. Jansen is important, but compared to a lot of teams our offense is about what we should have started with in the begining of the year -1. Many teams would kill for that!

I'm not so sure Daniels is a bust, the 20 plays he's been in for between injuries I thought he played solid. He's a bit too easy to judge just yet, and if I remember correctly his contract isn't that hefty.

Actually we've had more than a single injury on that side of the ball, we just happen to have one that was out for the entire season...oh and he just happens to be our best offensive lineman..yeah no bigger there!

I assume you are refering to the offense and not the defense. i have to disagree if you feel the defense lacked confidence.

What other injury has happened on offense? Coles dislocated finger?

He's our best lineman, but so what? It's 1 injury. That's something a team has to plan around and can NOT be considered the reason for our ineptitude and failures this year. Sorry. Jon Jansen is a great linemen, but he wouldn't have us in the playoff hunt right now.

The Brunell fiasco, and a few back-breaking calls that a team without a QB couldn't recover from.

Things turned in the second half of the Cinncy game, and we all know why.

There is defientely a learning curve effect, but it was SO magnified by the incredibly bad play of Brunell that it's really tough to judge. (We still look weak in the red zone, so its not all Brunell!)
