Patriots Swim With the Fishes (Mammals)
Anyone watch MNF?
Derrius Thompson! (yes, the same one) scored what proved to be the game winning TD with a little under 2 minutes left to lead the Dolphins to an upset over the Patriots.

That was a good MNF game. I was really dissapointed in Brady's performance. I just love watching a qb that knows everything around him and can find the opwn reciever. Give me Brady over Manning any day.

I've been waiting to say this for one of our games all year "AND THATS! WHY THEY PLAY THE GAME!"

man Brady blew that game. all they had to do was keep handing it off to Dillon and then punt it away.

His role in that offense is perfect. I believe he would be diminished in another system. The Joe Montana has been made that he was perfect for the West Coast Offense, and that was the key to his greatness. Would he have been among history's best in the "Run-and-Shoot", or a more traditional grind-it-out offense? Maybe, maybe not. Most of the players in this league have athletic abilities that transcend what we can comprehend (not so fast, Brunell). The trick is either being in the system that highlights them, which Manning or Montana have had, or having a coaching staff that shapes his offense to the talents around him - a hallmark of Joe Gibbs in his first tenure with the Redskins. I'm hopeful that the improvement we've seen has been the result of three things:

Manning calls his own plays (from a list of three) and is able to read defenses better than anyone in the league. That being said, I don't think he'd be as successfull in NE. Brady is good at running Weis's offense, whereas Peyton makes a lot of oppurtunities in calling his own offense.

Has Manning won a Super Bowl? A Super Bowl MVP? OK, so the best QB is still Brady by results.

The new illegal contact/pass interference rules may have well been dubbed the Manning-Harrison rule. What's hard to believe is that all along we've said 'defense wins championships'. You guys aren't changing your story are you?
