Re: Cooley says Kyle Shanahan running offense
Dukes will be all over this.... MS has always given his coordinators and coaches the space to work, teach, and make decisions, he can always veto those decisions. MS trust his coaches.

Re: Cooley says Kyle Shanahan running offense
I can't get the Rich Eisen podcast with Chris Cooley to work, can someone give me a high level summary of what they discussed?

Re: Cooley says Kyle Shanahan running offense
Well yeah he runs the offense. He's the friggin' offensive coordinator. Isn't he supposed to run the offense?

Re: Cooley says Kyle Shanahan running offense
Well, there's been some confusion out there with some as to who is really calling the shots, Mike or Kyle. I think it's been pretty clear from the start that it's Kyle's show on offense.

F Dukes. He comes out with some real head scratching stuff at times. I don't get what his deal is.

Re: Cooley says Kyle Shanahan running offense
I listen because I hate listening to radio stations sometimes and pretty much because I love sports. He lost credibility with me when they first started he couldn't stand Jason Campbell, two weeks later he was signed to be on their show each week and all of a sudden Dukes loved him. Then he talked all that O-line first shitty QB next mess only to now switch gears. It's always Danny this, and you gotta believe that things wont work blah blickity blah. I'm tempted to call but usually when Bernard from Beltsville goes on it's so they can disagree and hang up on me only to go on a quick rant before commercial.
Can't do it. That's why I stick with Bill and Danny or Wise.

Re: Cooley says Kyle Shanahan running offense
Are we talking about Jamie Dukes or Chad Dukes?
Because they're both kind jokes, but just for clarifications sake... |

Re: Cooley says Kyle Shanahan running offense
I'm referring to Chad Dukes. He's cool when talking about something other than the Redskins but when they talk Skins and Lavar starts to lying about his "legacy".

Re: Cooley says Kyle Shanahan running offense
Most offensive coordinators have a great deal of influence on who plays and who sits.
They're judged by how well their offense is executed and I'm quite sure that if a coordinator feels a player is not capable of executing his system he'll go to the HC coach and suggest that particular player be replaced as in the case of McNabb. As OC it's his responsibility to diagram the plays and have the correct people on the field to execute them, therefore it's only natural that he have input. He's not going to be allowed to make any decisions that will cost the HC wins.

Re: Cooley says Kyle Shanahan running offense
Given that the elder Shanahan has a LOT of executive level jobs to do(GM, coach, NON-football VP), I think he doesn't have the TIME to micromanage even if he wanted to do so.

Sports Talk Radio in the DC area is a joke in general.
