Re: Haynesworth "Wanted Badly" By Eagles' D-Line Coach
So this rumor has legs. This is the very definition of high risk high reward. We could let the Eagles have him and he helps the locker room implode from within, or he treats us and other Eagle opponents like Suh did this past year.
Damnit Albert put down the phone and stop reading the newspaper.

That report has come from a couple different sources of late, don't how much weight it carries. Despite all his transgressions here, could it be he's still wanted somewhere by somebody?

Keep him far away from the NFC East. Still one of the most dangerous 4-3 DTs in the NFL if properly motivated. PLaying us = proper motivation.

They are more than welcome to have him and McNabb for a 1st round pick. You can't get any sweeter deal than that!

Once we get a CBA, the first second afterwards I'd ink that one. Hell, I'd do it for a 2nd rounder.

Re: Haynesworth "Wanted Badly" By Eagles' D-Line Coach
I think it boils down to two things....
1- How bad does the Eagles DC want Haynesworth? 2- How bad does Haynesworth want out of here and with the Eagles? To the Skins its obviously smart to get what we can get, some here would say he "should" be worth a 1st or 2nd round draft pick. Others would laugh and say he's not worth that now. Some would say he's worth a 3rd round or 4th round pick and again others would laugh and say we'd be lucky to get that. Persoanally with no one wanting him he's worth nothing. So lets see how bad the Eagles want him. We all know he's an out of shape player and can't last more then 4-6 plays in a row before tiring out and leaving the field. Thats solved by zone blocking and rolling out the QB until ole Haynesworth tires out then we can run right around him. But.... again how bad do the Eagles want him? Then there is how bad does Haynesworth want to be out of here and with the Eagles? Enough to pay back some of the money? Because "if" it's true the Eagles want him we actually have options now... we can trade him to the Eagles for perhaps decent value, we can trade him to one of the other teams that were mentioned to be interested for cheap, or we can sit on him and let him rot on the bench pissing off him and his ole ball coach with the Eagles. |

Re: Haynesworth "Wanted Badly" By Eagles' D-Line Coach
Mike Shanahan isn't going to deal Haynesworth to a division rival unless Philly are willing to cough up some premium draft picks. I'm talking second and third round draft picks, or at least one or the other, on top of possibly another player.
Without that, I don't see Mike trading him. Maybe Haynesworth signs there as a free agent, but he won't be worth the money he spends. I don't see him being motivated to work for Juan Castillo if he wouldn't work for Jim Haslett. I don't care if Washburn is the d-line coach. Castillo still calls the plays. |

Re: Haynesworth "Wanted Badly" By Eagles' D-Line Coach
Is there anything other than our own conjecture indicating that the Redskins are intent on trading Haynesworth?
I mean it makes sense to do it, but it's quite possible the 'Skins are willing to just sit on the guy. Regardless though, there's no way I'd trade him within the division, especially not to a team who runs a system he likes and has a coach he's worked well with in the past. The whole reason he won't play for us is he hates our system. As soon as he gets back into a system he likes he's going to turn it back on. If he goes to the Eagles he'll destroy us, there's no circumstance where I'd make that trade.
