Inside the World of NFL Scouting
You guys may recall former Redskins scout Dan Shonka did a brief Q&A with us a few months back. Well, he did a more in-depth piece with another blog recently and it's a great read.

Re: Inside the World of NFL Scouting
Wow what a great series. I love reading these "behind the scenes" perspectives that allow me to get a better glimpse into the life of a guy who does really important work in the background.
It makes me wonder what kind of structure the Redskins have going on in the scouting department, and who plays into what role on draft day. I'd love to know who deserves the real credit for finding some of these potential gems. I've always been a fan of building through the draft (if for no other reason than the Redskins previous aversion to doing it throughout the years) and this series of articles provides a great in-depth look at the mind of a guy who spends his entire year working towards draft day.

Well it's a team effort but Scott Campbell deserves a lot of credit for the draft. He's always been instrumental in building the draft, and the past couple of years especially he's been allowed to do his thing without someone (rhymes with Minny) overruling him

Dan Snyder? lol jk If that's the case I hope this structure remains in place for a while. I think Campbell will start getting more props if this and 2010's draft class fulfill their potential and start opening eyes around the league.
