The 2010 Draft QB Class could be Historically Awful
My god.
Jimmy Clausen, career net yards per passing attempt: 4.0 Sam Bradford, career net yards per passing attempt: 5.1 Colt McCoy, career net yards per passing attempt: 5.5 Tim Tebow, career net yards per passing attempt: 5.6 The NFL average for this particular statistic over the last two years is 6.1, held by Jay Cutler and David Garrard. I would say that you can't turn the lights out on Tebow or McCoy just yet as passers. But what all these guys have in common is that none of them use the pocket particularly well, which means a lot of roll outs, which means that the field is being cut down, and that limits completion percentages and big play opportunities. If any of these guys can get comfortable in the pocket, they have a shot to be successful still. But the 2010 NFL draft has produced one of the worst classes in memory, at least that has to be the perception of it to date.

I'd take Clausen as a back up to whoever we draft.

I don't know how to respond to that. Usually people bring these things up and I say "next years class will be better" just so I sound smart and savy. Just like when a big name player gets released I always say "Vet Min."

Re: The 2010 Draft QB Class could be Historically Awful
Am I not mistaken in thinking at a) Sam Bradford has been playing banged up with a shitty line, no WR and no RB for the better part of the season? b) Tebow 5-1 since he replace Rotton?

Re: The 2010 Draft QB Class could be Historically Awful
I think 2011 has potential to be worse. Newton looks like he's the real deal, as does Dalton. Locker, in his limited cleanup duty a few weeks ago seems like he has some real talent and some real accuracy issues. Gabbert smells very bust-ish already. Ponder looks ok but not special.
Bradford still has the look of an excellent QB and while Tebow isn't playing traditional QB well he is winning games. At least McCoy is starting consistently so maybe he will improve with better talent around him.

Not just warpath. Many fans say the same thing, which is exactly why he was saying it. To mock them.

Re: The 2010 Draft QB Class could be Historically Awful
Bradford was derailed by a stupid decision to change offenses on a 2nd year QB in the middle of a lockout. I still believe in him and would love to get him in DC...

Re: The 2010 Draft QB Class could be Historically Awful
Given time and weapons, especially in Josh McDaniels offense I think Bradford can be a top 8 QB. For his sake, I hope if they make a move on Spags they leave McDaniels in place and get him some receivers to work with.

Re: The 2010 Draft QB Class could be Historically Awful
I agree...he could be good in that offense. It just wasn't gonna happen in the 1st year with no off season.

Re: The 2010 Draft QB Class could be Historically Awful
Sam has BY FAR the worst Offense to work with.. Other than SJAX Who else does he have?? Give him the 49ers or heck even Cards offense and he'd be in the pro bowl
