Another reason to dig Smoot
According to the Wash. Post, Smoot fired his agent, none other than Lavar's incompetent Carl Poston. Way to go Smoot! You seem to be the first player to pick up on the fact that this guy is a loser, and that if you want the skins to love you, get somebody new.

Instead of having Bailey or LaVar for our upper tier icons. Let's have smoot. I love every aspect about this guy.

Smoot is the freaking man. I'm serious, the only thing I'm wishing for right now, is resinging him next year. I hope all these new CB's mean were looking to replace him after his contract, cause hes the freakin man.

More on Smoot. From today's times:
Note — Smoot confirmed that he recently fired Carl and Kevin Poston, the agents who represent Arrington and have accused the Redskins of removing a $6.5 million roster bonus from Arrington's contract extension. The move to James "Bus" Cook was something Smoot had contemplated for several years, he said in a phone interview. Smoot added that the change had nothing to do with the Postons' admission that they did not read the final draft of Arrington's contract before he signed it. "I went with my gut," Smoot said. "[Any connection to Arrington] was probably just bad timing." http://www.washtimes.com/sports/2004...2329-9496r.htm

First I've heard of that. If it's true, I'd say it was a very good reason to drop your agent. Will it also have an impact on Arrington's dispute? |

It had no factor? It was probably just the icing on the cake. Hopefully after this year we will be saying (and many to come) "Champ Who?".

smoot can talk some smack but he doesn't seem the type of guy who would bash an agent or someone like that away from the football field so I think thats why he didn't say "Yeah I fired that moron cuz I don't want him screwing up my contract like he did w/my man Lavar." smart move fred and here's to hoping u resign to stay w/the team

I love Smooty as well, and I really hope all these CBs we are bringing in are not looked at as replacements for Smoot next year. We gotta get Smoot (and soon Ramsey) signed for the long-term.

Smoot is quickly becoming THE team leader and showing his intelligence in firing those idiot agents. If they really did that to Lavar, he should be filing a suit against them for that 6 mil!!!
I don't think they're bringing in all these good CB's to replace Smoot. I think they're looking at using 3 or 4 cornerback sets. Our backfield should be awsome this season, with Smoot as the leader!!!!! (I got my retro Smoot jersey before the start of last season. GO SMOOT!!!!!!!!!!!1

I wouldn't be suprised to see LaVar follow suit after this deal is over with. Poston sounds like an idiot.

Maybe it's me but I'm sure LaVar is one of this guys biggest clients and he decides NOT to read the final draft of a contract? Give me a break!

LaVar should find a new agent right away. How do you not read a final contract? And then to accuse the Redskins of not paying an extra $6.5 million? Surrrrre, Who would ever seriously accuse the Redskins of being penny pinchers?

Lol. True. I think LaVar is kinda sitting back shielding his eyes while his idiot agent tries to put the blame on someone other than himself.
