Whose coverage will you watch for the NFL Draft?
For perhaps the most anticipated draft in the recent history of the Redskins I'm curious as to which channel you will be watching for the draft coverage.
Personally I'm slightly torn between ESPN and NFL-N with a strong leaning towards NFL Network.. ESPN- Pros: Superior quality of secondary analysts (Jaws, Gruden, Steve Young), better 'experts/insiders' (Mort & Schefter) depth of analysis from multiple sources, much stronger 2nd and 3rd day anchor team (Trey Wingo>>Fran Charles) Cons: Subpar lead anchor and analysts. Berman's act wore thin in 2001, TJ adds nothing, Keyshawn adds nothing, Kiper and McShay are alright but have already said the same things about players for the past 5 weeks. It's somewhat overkill by the time they get to draft day. NFL Network- Pros: Lead team of Eisen, Mayock and Charles Davis is head and shoulders over ESPN lead team. Lombardi is a decent information man and seems pretty dialed in to the Redskins. Coverage seems more about the players and teams than entertaining each other. Cons: Pretty big drop off after the lead team. JLC is a hair above worthless and brings plenty of bias against the Redskins. What coverage will you watch and are some of your pros and cons for each network?

Re: Whose coverage will you watch for the NFL Draft?
I think you hit it on the head. NFLN's group has MUCH better chemistry then the big names over at ESPN. Granted they seemed to learn from the 2010 fiasco where they tried to cram as many people on set as possible and ended up having bickering going back and forth rather then meaningful discussions but 2011 only got them up to normal.
I think a big part of ESPN's problem on the draft is Boomer because everything else is fantastic. I mean they got Gruden and Young who are top notch. And maybe it's just me but having Kiper go a million words a minute is one of my favorite parts of the draft. They easily have the better insiders in Mort and Schefter. And the graphics are always amazing. However theres something about Berman that just drives me nuts, like he's a parody of himself with the "WHOOP" and "he....could......go......all...the...way." Rich Eisen just does a great job of running the show at NFLN and Mayock is a heck of an analyst. Also you're right about Mike Lombardi. Personally I'll probably spend most of my time on NFLN switching back to ESPN to see if it's worth staying through a commercial break on the other network.

Someone should go to New York and put a slip a valium on Chris Berman's water.

Actually I think ESPN would be much better off if they let Suzy Kobler host ESPN's draft coverage. Heck you could also put in Stuart Scott, John Anderson, Linda Cohn, Neil Everett, Sage Steele, Hannah Storm, or Scott Van Pelt.
I mean you have this ridiculous abundance of talent at ESPN and yet we're stuck with Berman on days 1 and 2.

Can't remove the hair. I'm convinced that Kipers gift of gab is physically stored in that hair and to remove would reduce Kiper to the equivalent of a stoner.

Re: Whose coverage will you watch for the NFL Draft?
I watch both... Day 1, I watch ESPN, then switch to NFLN on Friday's and Saturday's... Berman needs to retire, Mayock's the best "draft guru/expert" of both networks (IMO), ESPN has WAY too many commercials but better analysts (Dilfer, Hodge, Edwards, Young vs dumbasses Irvin and Sanders; I like Davis, Lombardi, and Mayock, but Irvin and Sanders ruin it for me).

Re: Whose coverage will you watch for the NFL Draft?
Draft day 2012 is also our 37th Anniversary. I may not get to see any of the Draft. It's not like I'm going to miss anything since we spent the 1st and 2nd picks and then some, and then some more just to sit idle after the first 20 minutes anyway! I can always read about it somewhere!

Re: Whose coverage will you watch for the NFL Draft?
I really haven't watched much ESPN since NFLN hit the airways. If not NFLN (or HGTV), I'm watching CSN Washington. I heard ESPN won't have any commercials during the peak of the show so, I will check them out at times.

Re: Whose coverage will you watch for the NFL Draft?
ESPN won't have any commercials (or maybe it was just one) during the first hour. And both are going to work more closely together to not give away who is about to be drafted.
Like most people at ESPN (past and present) I can't thank Beeman enough for what he's done, but wish he would now go away. I, of course, am partial to my friends at ESPN but I will watch both back and forth
