Should Bugel be demoted?

I saw this question in another post and Wonder what everyone thought because it wasn't really responded to. Should bugel become the Oline coach while the redskins persue a better offensive coordinator? Who would it be?

I say no new guy, but if it was to happen i'd bring in a coordinator from the Rams or the chiefs to help uplift the passing game. Smootsmack could you make a poll question for this thanks.

I could do a poll, but I'm not sure I understand what the question is exactly. I mean Don Breaux has the title of offensive coordinator, not Joe Bugel.

excuse me, 'head coach Offense', But what I want to know is how many people think we need to bring in some else in as an offensive coordinator or to replace him as head coach of offense. Now if u could edit my post to reflect what I'm asking that would be great but it been past 5 minutes for me...

So basically you want to know if people think Joe Bugel should have a smaller role with the team

yeah, I read someone ask this question in another post; however no one gave them an answer because I guess it was off subject or something.

I think the title of "Assistant Head Coach-Offense" is just that, a title. Buges is here to work primarily with the offensive line and he should continue to be our man doing that.

His role with the team is just fine, in my opinion.

I voted yes for one reason. I feel Bugel has the smallest chance of being snatched away by another team, I also feel he doesnt want to leave Washington. We should give that spot to someone who may be in danger of getting snatched up. Problem is, we don't have anyone on our offensive staff anyone is oggling!

First off he lost his best tackle before the season started in Jansen! Next he has a over rated tackle in Samuels. He was not a good run blocker and was so so in the pass. Even now as big as he is he still is so so on the run. Guys Samuels should be run guys over and make big blocks. The fact is he did better in 04 under Buges and could be the player he was rated coming out of the draft with more work in 05. But lets face facts he was not a top 3 pick in a draft and was very green. Not the college player he should have been at that pick. Now a so so center and a young Dockery at guard along with the loss of Jansen he did very good! Thomas is a good guard but has been hurt more then with the Jets so that is also something to think about. I really wanted to see how Mark Wilson and Jim Molinaro do with a season under Buges! What we need to do is bring in good free agents or ues the draft to get him player with up side and that are younger! Look for a Washington type O line player as a free agent. He is out there! Just look hard for that player Buges can build in to a Champion!

I put no becuase it doesnt matter, we can have ten assistant head coaches if joe gibbs wants. I mean, Greg Williams isnt even our d cordinator, but he clearly lead the defense.

We could use someone else to coem in and work on play calling. i doubt it will happen, but i guarantee that gibbs does a lot of research this off season, and will probably get some consultants to aid him

Guys guys guys. This is nuts. First, I believe it was said, but Bugel has the title of Assistant Head Coach of Offense, but it's not like he's calling plays and devising offensive strategy. He's coaching the O-line and that's pretty much it. Gibbs is the guy, with input from Bugel and Breaux of course, devising the offensive strategy and game plan. Gibbs calls the plays.

There are only a few line coaches in the league that can compete with Bugel. Alex Gibbs and Russ Grimm. That's about it.

I wouldn't make any changes to the coaching staff. Gibbs is going to change over the offseason, you can book it. Nobody works as tirelessly as he does, he'll analyze and analyze offenses and make the changes he needs to make.

And anyway, I don't think they're too far away. Once Ramsey got in the games, the QB passer rating was in the 80 range, which is decent efficiency. Portis had some trouble this year, but we all know Jansen was missed, and a replacement for Cory Raymer would help. Also, notice the blocking TE Rasby never really worked out that well either. Don't be hasty to call for changes, Gibbs was 8-8 in his first year and won the Super Bowl in his second year. I'm not saying they're destined this coming season, but Gibbs will certainly have them on track better.
