Democratic National Convention 2012

Starts tomorrow. This I will watch. I might even be a little giddy.

Yeah I'm sure there will be more substance than the ridiculous lies of the RNC. Also nothing can follow Eastwood's rambling nonsense, so I guess "yawn" may be correct.

Re: Democratic National Convention 2012

Yes we will hear plenty of lies in the next day or so. Starving kids, taking away old peoples medicare, etc.... one after another. He can't run on his record so he has to run on lies.

I guess Mr Truth Obama will talk about how gas prices have doubled while he has been in office. Not sure why the rep. are not pushing that fact.

Speaking of lies, I'm interested in why Obama didn't do anything about that Janesville plant closing in 2008.

Dude dropped the ball big time. BIG TIME.

Re: Democratic National Convention 2012

Obama is speaking today down the street at Norfolk State. I found it strange that even today they were advertising tickets for the event. I laughed when they also listed that the tickets were free. Seems Obama is having trouble filling speaking places.

Democrats are poised to avoid the danger of President Barack Obama accepting his party’s nomination before a partially-empty stadium by shifting his speech to an indoor arena and citing ‘severe weather’.
The Obama campaign have been working desperately to ensure that the 74,000-seater Bank of America stadium in Charlotte would be filled.

Buses for students from across North Carolina and even members of black churches in neighboring South Carolina have been arranged.

Lets talk about this one right here!!!

Stop finger-pointing on gas prices - CNN.com

Now read.....

"Critics of the administration are quick to note that when Barack Obama took office, gasoline prices were $1.95 a gallon. But they neglect to note the U.S. economy was in a virtual depression. For purposes of comparison, when President George W. Bush took office in 2001, gasoline sold for an average of $1.55 a gallon. In the summer of 2008, his last year in office, prices exceeded $4.25. In reality, presidents have little to do with near-term fluctuations in gas prices."

Great job CNN. If gas was $1.95 because of the depression how did they then get to $4.25?

This article from CNN is blamming Bush and congress for not doing anything back in 2008.

Its Colorado about the most liberal state. That's like the Redskins selling out a home playoff game.

Dems have only won Colorado twice in 40 years; Bill Clinton in 1992 and Obama in 2008. Hardly liberal, my friend.

I see you didn't ready my link becuase if you had then you have seen this....

"

Earlier this year, closures of refineries announced in the United States and elsewhere began pushing up gasoline prices well in advance of the coming "driving season." More recent increases are more closely tied to the delicate balance between increased demand growth and concerns related to supply disruptions, including but not limited to concern over Iran.

The single largest component in the price of gasoline is the cost of crude oil. Federal, state and local taxes as well as refining costs, transportation, retail advertising and the cost of the service station lease also figure in. All things being equal, for gas to cost $2.50 a gallon, the crude oil price would have to be in the $50-a-barrel range (less than half of the current price). And to achieve this anytime soon would likely require a global economic collapse.
With oil at $50-a-barrel it would not be economically viable for oil companies to bear the cost of extracting oil locked up in hard-to-reach places such as the deep ocean or oil sands, where much of the new production is found. Such a price reduction would, in any event, be short-lived, as demand would grow with lower prices while supply languished. For the longer term, the president's goal of doubling fuel economy standards and increasing fuel choices makes eminent good sense: It would make $4 gasoline feel like $2 gas to consumers. Also a very good thing."

.....and that NO President can be held responsible for the rising cost of gas.
