Anybody heard anything on Muhammed?
I'd heard he signed, but I didn't know where... I figured with Moss as our new #1(Maybe?) we'd need a physical guy unless we were comfortable with McCants.... Anyone else know anything, I can't find it on the net...

This a real good news for the skins. Now the bears might now use their first round pick on a reciever. This could possibly mean that Edwards or Williams will be on the board when we pick.

Re: Anybody heard anything on Muhammed?
I'm more concerned about our trade for Santana Moss. With his current contract expiring after the 2005 season, what type of money will we have to shell out to keep him? He will be a unrestricted free agent. And we'll be back at square one. That's why it's so important to build through the draft and develop those players. Imagine the leverage we would have if Pierce had started a season earlier under Greg Williams. He would've been a highly sought restricted free agent as supposed to being unrestricted. Jacobs is approaching the same situation. If we keep sitting him until the end of his contract, no team is going to value him as a restricted free agent. And we'll have to settle for offering him a one-year tender followed by unrestricted free agency. With no leverage.

I am also glad that Muhamed is gone before the Redskins decided to sniff in his direction. The last thing the skins need is an aging WR looking for his last big payday. |

The Skins will not trade for Moss unless the two sides agree to an extension beforehand. Good thbought BossHog, but Allah (aka Gibbs) is one step ahead of you. |

Re: Anybody heard anything on Muhammed?
Yeah that's right DC. And apparently he is very willing to agree to an extension as well. So that isn't a big issue. But Muhammad signing with the Bears, that is the best news I have gotten all week. (It was a pretty shitty week, what with the LC thing and the Vikings moving in front of us thing). The Bears are now much less likely to take a WR. Of course, the flip side is that they are also more likely to trade down, so that could either help us or hurt us. We could move up there, but also a different team (Chargers?) could sneak in at number 4.

Re: Anybody heard anything on Muhammed?
if i could pick any WR available this offseason for 2005, MM would be it... but he's too old to be given that kind of money and his chances of going downhill fast are too high for that much cash...

Re: Anybody heard anything on Muhammed?
this is good news in that it eliminates a team drafting in front of us from probably selecting a wr, but now the other teams needing a wr will more than likely intensify their pursuit of Derrick Mason which sucks 4 us if we continue to take 4ever reworking/cutting Samuels and moving Coles. As good of an offensive tackle I think Samuels can still show he can be, we can't keep him at the salary he has and we have the perfect o-line coach to find and mold a player to replace him in Bugel.
has anyone heard any rumor of Gardners potential suitors and asking prices? |

This was sort of hidden in a Washington Post article the other day:
