London Fletcher - "Fans, be louder"
London Fletcher mentioned in his post-game interview that he wants Fed Ex to be more hostile. How sad is it that even the players acknowledge that the fans are too quiet?
If I lived on the East Coast I'd be there every week making a noise. |

Re: London Fletcher - "Fans, be louder"
Our fans were a force at RFK. Of course, we were winning and the stands were loud because they were falling apart but we need to get back to that. We had the original 12th man....screw Seattle.

Re: London Fletcher - "Fans, be louder"
Probably will never have "home field" advantage like in the past due to the sheer capacity of the stadium and the high cost of going to a game. Look no further than Jerry Jone's new palace, yet still had a huge Chicago fan base in that game last week.

Plus - if the team wins on a regular basis, the fans are going to be loud. I think right now, fans who attend and don't attend the games watch the games with refrained optimism, and often feel their cheering is going to turn into to boos by the 4th quarter because the lead goes away far too often.

You feel the noise more in a smaller stadium with the fans closer to the field like in RFK. I'm no sound engineer but I think the acoustics of RFK helped that "crowd noise" feel that FedEx can't

Re: London Fletcher - "Fans, be louder"
This is especially true in Seattle where the shape of the stadium funnels all the sound down to the field.

Re: London Fletcher - "Fans, be louder"
I think some of the problem is the open stadium. If they keep winning FedX will get louder. My buddy was at the game and said it was pretty loud most of the game.

Trickle down stadium noise. Lower ticket prices to allow poor crazy people to attend games and find ways to serve more alcohol. Like buy beer one get two free. Stadium noise problem solved. Might need National Guard to fix new problems.

And I refuse to pay to sit under the overhang and not see any live action or have an obstructed view. If tickets could come down another $20-30, or had the similar prices to baseball tickets, I'd be there every Sunday.

Re: London Fletcher - "Fans, be louder"
Conversely the noise in Mercedes Benz Superdome was loud enough that my wife wore ear plugs all game. Loudest seemed to be when the Redskins fans grouped in the lower section behind the Skins bench were chanting "RGIII!" at the end of the game as he came over.
The Saints have nice fans, very drunk but lots of fun. Last season we were at Seattle and I think due to the weather and the standings of both teams the crowd were fairly subdued. Haven't been back to Fed Ex since 2005, opening day kick-off against the Jets. The place was insane and I was a little giddy about the whole experience, it being my first time there. |

Re: London Fletcher - "Fans, be louder"
i've read that before too. the fans are being just as loud as other fans... the acoustics at FedEx are just not good.

Re: London Fletcher - "Fans, be louder"
I'm a little surprised. It REALLY sounded (across the TV) like FEDEX was really on fire..........
Not like BITD at RFK.......but

Re: London Fletcher - "Fans, be louder"
weren't they also able to "sneak" the diesel horn into rfk?
has anyone been to a ravens game? i haven't been in several years, but they do a great audio/visual job to help keep fans involved. ravens example: when the ravens would get a 1st down, they played some video w chains moving and audio of chains clanking, i don't remember them playing any commercials during the actual game. redskins example: redskins get a 1st down, they play a commercial for a local bank, really inspiring stuff. lame
