Josh Wilson #26
I don't know what to make of Josh Wilson. When he was with the Baltimore Ravens, he did cover receivers well. He was decent. With the Redskins he didn't start coming on until late last season. Then he along with the rest of the secondary started giving up big plays.
That 85 yard TD pass he gave up yesterday to Dez Bryant didn't make any sense at all. I know he was trying to play the ball, but he doesn't have those types of skills to try to make that type of interception he attempted. The only CBs in NFL history I've seen make that sort of play was our own Darrell Green, Champ Bailey, Lester Hayes, and Deion Sanders. Josh Wilson needs to stay with his man in coverage. His coverage on Bryant was solid all game, but he should never misjudge the timing of the ball the way that he did. Because he did that, the Cowboys scored on a long pass play. |

Honestly every game I cuss the guy but yesterday he made the game changing play IMO. That forced fumble was great. Problem with Wilson is he just gets torched every week, yesterday Bryant owned him.

Re: Josh Wilson #26
They got virtually no pressure on Romo most of the second half, its not just one guy, it takes a team effort to be that bad.

Re: Josh Wilson #26
He plays the WR eyes. A lot of corners play this way, that is why his head doesn't turn. He played good yesterday. He gave up a few plays to a monster at WR. Who doesn't?

Josh Wilson is a Nickel back at best. Not starting caliber anymore. The ravens defense make a lot of players look better than they really are.
(side note; don't get Cary Williams in FA, he looks bad on their defense, which means he's probably worse on ours)

I've just been annoyed at the fact that even though he has solid coverage, if he doesn't turn around and barely touches the guy, it's PI. You can see DBs MUG someone if, but if they turn around, it's no penalty. Lame. Wilson is victimized by this a lot. I agree he needs to turn around, but that's a little touchy.

Re: Josh Wilson #26
The Redskins need to draft two corners or develop Richard Crawford and Chase Minnifield. DeAngelo Hall and Josh Wilson can not cover elite WRs.

Re: Josh Wilson #26
i actually thought he had a decent game. other then the TD his coverage was decent. you look at the elite corners, and there is something they all have in common. a good pass rush. something the skins don't have

Re: Josh Wilson #26
Wilson got picked on yesterday big time, but still managed to come up with some plays.
Im not writing off Wilson and think he can still play, but he needs less pressure on him. He cant take the #1 guy, if he does he needs solid safety help. But so does D Hall. I think you bring back Wilson for sure and bring a stronger Corner on the other side of him next year and lets see how he does. I bet he plays better. I know one thing, its probably time for D Hall to go, along with that contract. Hall got away with one yesterday with the slap to the face. Plays like that usually cost us. Hall is too much of a liability in coverage and stupid 15 yard penalties. I think next year, you bring in a Corner in free agency and you draft a corner with one of our first 2 picks.

Re: Josh Wilson #26
Wilson had a mixed game, he caused a key fumble, got burned on a gamble play . The last TD by Bryant was just a great throw and catch that not even Champ Bailey breaks up.

I'm not ready to cut D. Hall yet. Although he obviously has character issues. Keep Hall as a #2, bring in a strong #1 and bump Wilson to either nickle or dime. Or just cut his ass. I'm happy with that too.

Re: Josh Wilson #26
Is anyone going to realize that covering Dez Bryant is a very difficult thing to do? The guy is a flat out beast. The shorter TD that he gave up he was in perfect position. It was simply a great throw and catch. Sometimes you simply have to tip your cap to the other team. The 85 yarder was not his fault either. Yeah he gave up the catch but it looked like Williams took a horrible angle. I've said this before, Wilson is always around the ball, he just needs to improve his ball skills. Also our corners are already in a bind cause there is no pass rush.
