in the year 2000
Mlmpetert's amazing prediction thread!
I consider the debating with the enemy section on thewarpth.net a barometer for the political feelings and attitudes of Americans, because no one joined this forum to express their opinions about anything other than football. We didnt join to discuss politics, post funny pics or voice their frustrations towards shaving, we may have gravitated to those threads but theyre not what drew us here. Additionaly, the one common passion that links us together comes with no inherent biases towards our views or perspective regarding these things. And theres no real need to disguise opinions, as real world consequences dont exist on thewarpath.net. So with that said i think it would be interesting to hear outlooks and predictions on reasonable expectations some of us may have about potential future events. As of the moment i dont have any forecasts myself, but here are some guidelines for making a prediction others may find interest in: Within our lifetime - 50 years or less. Shorter is prob better Logical reasons or expectations why - so cant say you think aliens are gonna attack unless you have reasonable assertions why you think theyll attack within the next 50 years after passing on the last several hundred thousand Percent likelihood you think it will happen General time frame for event Can be about anything - redskins, matty selling the forum, ww3, nuke attack, internet restrictions, the 28th admendment, the fiscal cliff, the second coming of Jesus, world peace, call of duty 10 release date, hoverboards, robot judges, cure for cancer, or whatever else within forum guidelines.

Re: in the year 2000
Cocaine will be packaged and sold in stores by 2050. This will happen because as the legalization of marijuana spreads across the US over the next several years, more and more people will start thinking "extreme" drugs like cocaine aren't really that dangerous, which will lead to it's legalization on the federal level, and lead it to being sold in convienence stores across the US. It will also be sold with the product slogan "it's a hell of a drug."

Watch the movie Equilibrium, that's what I believe society will look like on or before.
Maybe a little less free. Thanks NDAA and the Patriot Act! |

Too much lol for one forum. Possibly the best typo of the decade or the most honest admittance of a peculiar peccadillo.
Thanks FD! |

Back on track
Predictions: 8 tracks will make a come back. There will be a third Disney park somewhere in the South - maybe Tennessee. Griff will win four superbowls I do believe we need either Jesus or Aliens to come here and set us on the straight and narrow - all those cures for all those diseases that supposedly harbor themselves in the rainforest - but the pharmaceutical companies will never let us get our hands on them. The hemp and other alternative fuels - but the oil companies will never let us get our hands on those either. However I dont think Jesus or the Aliens will come because than this world would be too perfect and Heaven wouldnt seem so wonderful when we got there. So Ill just go with 8 tracks, Griff, and Disneywhatever. |
