FieldTurf.....is that the same as what I grew up with which we called/call Astro Turf?
Or is it the stuff with the shredded tires in it?

It's different no one in the NFL uses astro turf anymore. If I remember correctly.

Astro turf was the equivalent of a high school gym mat thrown over concrete. Really crappy stuff.

Field Turf is not the sad old astroturf. It's the shredded tire stuff like they have in Detroit.

Personally I'm fine if we stick to grass.

You are being very kind!I actually practiced on it in the 70's,Schafer Stadium in Foxboro,it was concrete a 1/2 inch rubber sheet and outdoor carpet. The field had an arch to it,if you where on one sideline looking across the field you could not see from the knees on down on the other side.Kick a ball(punt in the middel of the field and you never knew which way it would go.When it got wet they would roll it to squeze out the water .The carpet burns were the worst.

Good. Football is supposed to be played outside, on grass.

Raise prices by over 50% on season tickets but he won't do what it takes to protect the safety of his players.

I'm fine with grass, so long as it can actually be maintained this year. That game against Seattle was a disgrace.

I don't understand why everyone wants field turf. Lots of players get hurt on this surface. Other stadiums have nice natural grass and don't have issues. The question is why can't we get our grass maintenance to be as nicely kept up as other team's facilities?

FA priority #1. Field maintenance team!!!

I prefer real grass, if maintained.

Re: Dag nabbit! We're not getting FieldTurf.

Players complain about the field turf too, and it's rougher on the knees, maybe not a good idea when you have a QB coming off knee surgery?

Pittsburgh re-sods (or does something similar) halfway through the season. BA said that the Skins didn't do that last year, but will going forward.
