who do u think if anybody will try to get edgerrin james? i kno the cardinals are interested..........who else do u think ight be interested? do u think he will do good on a different offense.....i mean the colts were a pass happy offense so the defense versing the colts would usually think pass so they give a little more cushion....do u think if he goes to a team with a run happy offense he will flourish like in the colts team?

I don't care except to say why hasn't the NFL loving anti-skins media jumped all over huckleberry finn peyton manning for his stupid contract that is now coming home to roost as the Colts lose all their best players?

It will be interesting to see how the Colys O does without a 1500 yard threat in the backfield. Obviuosly, Peyton gets the credit but D's have to respect the run and that opens up his passing game.
I heard he wanted to go to Miami but they are also talking about Alexander. Seems like everybody wants to go to the fins these days.

Edge has always wanted to play in Miami so it's very possible he could end up there.

Jordan - not that random. Talking about how Peyton's contract is killing Indy - that means Freeney comes loose next year.

If I were Indy I woulda traded Manning's ass in his contract year. They could have gotten massive amounts for him, gotten a very solid QB and some defense.

and lost every last fan they had... indy's following isnt great, they'd got a tiny stadium, they cant get enough people even for that... peyton is about the only thing putting butts in seats right now.

Re: edgerrin james

Even with Manning's monster contract, the Colts have found a way to put the franchise tag on James (to the tune of over $8M), so they don't have to lose him.

James is "complaining" sort of like Coles did here. He wants a long term deal and is whining that Indy won't give him one. He said that in addition to all the yards he gains running and catching, he is a key part of the blocking package for Manning - who he has somewhat derisively called the "God of the NFL". So, he's trying to force a trade and because it is now clear that he wants out of Indy, the price for Edgerrin James is supposed to be LESS THAN A FIRST ROUND PICK.

I liike Edgerrin James a lot as a player, but he will be 30 next season and he wants a 4 or 5 year deal for big bucks and I'm not sure that's a great idea from a team perspective.

Indy does NOT have to trade him for cap reasons. Believe it or not, they have more cap flexibility than the Skins did at the beginning of the FA season.

And for those who think that Manning's $34M signing bonus was a cap killer, please recall that Danny Boy was reported to have said that he would have given Manning a $40M signing bonus had he had the opportunity. He never had it, so we don't know if he meant that or if that was just some kind of boast on his part...

Saying Indy has more cap space then the redskins is not saying much. We probably have to do some more restructuring and cuts/trades (Gardner) just to sign our rookies.
Your second statement is why the Colts or the Redskins are not currently serious superbowl contenders. Both do not have enough cap space to resign veterans. Last year the Colts lost (pro bowl) LB Washington to us. This year our guys are leaving. The Colts defense does not scare anyone. They will lose Freeney if Huck Finn ( I like that one SKINZ_DOMIN) Manning does not restructure.

James will be effective where ever he goes. He has not taken a beating in his career so age is not a problem. He is looking for financial security. All the top players do.
