Request Concerning the Debate Forum
I see that the threads from the Debating the Enemy Forum our no longer listed on the home page. I am fine with this as I know most don't come here for that particular forum and would rather not be confronted with its threads.
At the same time, their are more than a view of us who do enjoy the discussions of that forum and the ability to discuss "touchy" issues with others for which an underlying commonality exists: At the end of the day, we are all Skins fans even if saden1's world view is obtuse and RedskinRat is an obnoxious ass. As such, would it be possible to put a hyperlink to the DTE forum on the home page without listing the threads? I realize it's just saving one extra click but, hey, I am busy man! If not, no worries. I just thought it would a nice convenience for many who consistently use the forum - and a way to let newcomers know it exists - w/o creating a consternation for the masses.

Re: Request Concerning the Debate Forum
Just subscribe to it.
IMO it is the most useless part of this entire forum glad to see it off the front page.

Re: Request Concerning the Debate Forum
Not looking to subscribe to a thread, rather to the forum. I have clicked the "subscribe to forum button". I did not click the e-mail notification 'cause I don't want that. Forum doesn't show on my home page. All I'm asking is for the forum - not a particular thread - to have a hyperlink on the homepage.

Re: Request Concerning the Debate Forum
Okay. Just did it and forum shows up there. As I said in my first post, however, hyperlinking it to the home page saves a click, whether its first to the "off-topic" (where it shows up in the sub-forum list) or to "user cp" page (where it shows up as a subscribed page) doesn't matter. It's just an ease of access thing. Myself and other regular Warpathers do enjoy the discussions there and I was just looking for a compromise.
If it is on the front page as a forum hyperlink, (1) it saves my lazy as the one extra click; and (2) it may be of interest new members who would not otherwise know of its existence. Lots of good solid contributors to the football discussions also partake in the DTE forum. I understand it is a small part of the site and that some members avoid it like the plague - great. I got no problem with that. Some new pontential solid contributors to the football threads might stay based on a discussion occuring in DTE. It's possible. I am not even seeking equal billing. Stick it at the bottom on the left. You will never, ever need to look into it or know any of the topics being discussed. I just wanted a slightly easier access to the forum on the home page. Really, didn't think it was that big a deal.

Re: Request Concerning the Debate Forum
That forum should be labeled Merry Go Around. Lets go around and around on a subject with no actually conclusion to anything until a moderator closes that thread.
IMO it is the black eye of this site.

Re: Request Concerning the Debate Forum
^^ You're entitled to you're opinion. Lots of the threads peter out on their own. Lots of threads in the football forum get contentious with no minds changed and then locked (Jaws QB list comes to mind).
In MY opinion, DTE has a lot of interesting discussion by intelligent people. Few people change their minds, but a lot get a better understanding of some of the issues. You don't like, don't go there. There are lots who do.

Re: Request Concerning the Debate Forum
Agreed, I'd rather get rid of it completely to be honest. I get more complaints about that forum than anything. I gave up playing babysitter a long time ago.

This. No idea why anybody would complain about a particular section of the forum. Simply don't visit it if it's not your cup of tea.
