Re: DRAFT Nightmare!!!!
I've heard the Bucs are high on him... BMW and Clayton would be a nightmare 1-2 punch for Gruden's offense... it's his hometown too.

Re: DRAFT Nightmare!!!!
Who cares about NFL draft countdown. Who cares about any mock. They mean didly squat. There are plenty of players available in the first round with great talent to take. So if we don't get pac-man or williams oh well. Plenty of other players available.

Re: DRAFT Nightmare!!!!
If the Cards take Antrel I will be pissed but I think a running back might be more pressing because we know how good Hammbrick is.

Re: DRAFT Nightmare!!!!
don't be ridiculous..!! there are many good options, including trading down for more picks and taking someone other than the 4 guys as above.

Re: DRAFT Nightmare!!!!
Although the players you mention are the top players in the draft, remember the later round players that became stars such as Joe Montana. And people must've scratched their heads when the Redskins drafted Darrell Green........the problem is do the Redskins have decent scouts to find these players. I wouldnt mind trading down.

Re: DRAFT Nightmare!!!!
Most definitely. Especially if we sign Brown and someone else takes Williams, I would welcome the prospect of trading down.

there's still over 4 weeks for things to happen and cause teams to adjust their draft plans, but this is fun sometimes with all the speculation. I know personally that draft day can't come fast enough 4 me. |

Re: DRAFT Nightmare!!!!
Man I say we draft Travis Johnson. Us skins fans have seen just how much a dominating D-tackle can help a defense. Imagine C Grif. and Johnson in the middle with Lavar and Marcus coming on the outside. Incredible.

Re: DRAFT Nightmare!!!!
This is silly. We can't fret of what might happen! At our position (#9, I think), we will have the availability to draft a very good player, hopefully a starter. Maybe even move down, and get another second or third. However, in case we stick with our #1, we shouldn't stretch for any one position. So, it may be in the best interest of the skins to take the best avilable from OL, DL, CB, or LB.

Re: DRAFT Nightmare!!!!
TRADE DOWN!!! There is plenty we can get and use. We could still get a good player later in the round. I am no longer enticed by big name player, who come to Washington. Give me a hard nose player at a good reasonable pick while helping the Skins obtain more talent...wait I am sorry this cant happen in todays game. F*(^ it, go for the top pick and get treated to "hot garbage" picks of the past like Westbrooke, Desmond Howard and Rod "its the offenses fault I have butterfingers" gardner.
sorry I couldn't let an oppurtunity to rank on gardner go bye... The past says to trade down! |

Re: DRAFT Nightmare!!!!
I would be very surprised if Tampa, or Arizona went with anything other than a RB, Gruden I believe is looking for another C.Garner, I believe Cadillac William's is exactly what he want's in a RB, Arizona will take whoever is left they may get the steal of the draft if Benson fall's to them at 8.

Re: DRAFT Nightmare!!!!
We don't need another "mediocre" Cornerback. It would be extremely stupid to take one with the overall #9 pick so I hope he is gone way before we pick.
And all these dips**** that want to "trade down" simply astound me with their lack of logic. Yeah trade down. That will make us a lot better instead of taking the best available player (so long as its not a cb). Besides, you have to find someone to trade with you and this draft is not that deep in talent IMO. |

Confused by two things: 1. Who is the mediocre cornerback? Pac-Man Jones (who runs a 4.45 40 and has a 37"+ vertical, and is regarded by every scout as an outstanding shutdown corner) or Antrel Rolle (a 6', 200+lbs cornerback who is a great cover-man and a tremendous tackler)? 2. Taking the "best player available" does not always equate to a successful draft pick. If this mock draft is correct, and the top two WRs and CBs are taken when #9 rolls around, the Skins (who don't have a second round pick, yet again) would absolutely be best served trading down a few spots to acquire an additional pick(s). Why would they make a stretch on the 3rd best CB or WR when they could get them later in the draft? And why would they simply opt for the "best player available"? What if the best player available is a RB, or an OLB, or a Safety? That, to me, doesn't make sense. Just my opinion.

Re: DRAFT Nightmare!!!!
its deep at center and corner, you trade down for better value when you're pick would have you overpaying someone you don't really need to have or isn't worth the price... its nice that you're all-knowing and anyone who has a different opinion is a dipshit though - it really shows your intelligence.
