Re: Any Janists?
Yes, sorry. Trying to remember a lot of very foreign words at the moment, It makes me come to appreciate the simple 4 letter names of some of the Christian apostles!

Re: Any Janists?
But I love Spurrier!
Here's the exact test question (no, I'm not cheating! he gave them to us in advance!) 3. Draw the chart and describe the Jain doctrine of reality, the meaning of the swastica symbol, the doctrine of the 3 jewels, and the 5 vows (separate for clergy and lay people.) I can't find what the chart is or what the swastica stood for in the book. I'm going to continue to look for the swastica. If you know the other two I'd love to compare what you have to what I have, but certainly not necessary. None of it is necessary. Thanks for whatever you can do, SS. |

Re: Any Janists?
swastika is a symbol of the seventh Jina (saint), Suparsva. Not sure about a chart

Re: Any Janists?
Thanks for the help guys. Finished my 8 page study guide, but I have a feeling in the hours I have before the exam yet I won't be ready. Often in these classes between reading over my notes from time to time, listening and going to class, and writing a study guide (just the writing part) net me an A. This may be a little different! Damn me for having poor hand writting!
Thanks again! |
