Re: nfl network
According to him the skins would have been fine with 2 players --coles and gardner who didn't want to be there. This is why he is an analyst and not a coach or personnel guy. To me those are just STUPID statements because they have nothing to talk about on the NFL network so lets make some stuff up.

Re: nfl network
I watched the samething on the NFL Network and they haven't taken into consideration all the facts. If both Moss and Coles were 100%, ability wise I would take Coles because I think he is an all around better receiver, however, you have to add into the fact of him not wanting to be in Washington and also Coles not being 100%. Still, it's way too early to state it was a bad move.....

Re: nfl network
Anyone else remember how bad a move we made with Darryl Gardner?
It just seems to me that the media want the Redskins to lose. |

Re: nfl network
They'll be the first ones to be like, "We believed in Gibbs all along!" too.

Re: nfl network
Malcolm - I've heard very few people say Gibbs can't do it. I've heard a lot more say it will take him time. Which, though we hoped wouldn't be the case, is what he needs. I just hope with a full offseason and a new voice in his ear the offense can change a bit.

Re: nfl network
But there have been those, like Bradshaw, who have said he should have never come back

Re: nfl network
You named one person, and were you watching that? See how long it took for Bradshaw to say that? I think it was more for effect than anything. Don't get me wrong, announcers change allegiance with the blow of a wind - but I haven't heard many say that he can't do it. That's a little early the first year back, the 2nd I can understand, the 3rd I can definitely see. If there's little to no improvement.

Re: nfl network
Solomom Wilcox is a dork and so is the other three monkeys that are on that Playbook show. At the end of the show they each give out an "attaboy" award, and on the one show they gave one to Brian Urlactater for the play where he ran down Portis and nearly ripped his head off with the face mask.
I am not an expert on anything but dont you think that is the wrong message to send out to young kids that could be watching the show? I mean they basicly praised the guy for commiting a very serious penalty, now thats the way to show young viewers how to play the linebacker position!!!

Re: nfl network
I'd love to know what some these analysts would have done with the Coles situation? A lot of them are quick to criticize but have no realistic alternative solutions to offer. Guess that's why they are analysts and not coaches and GMs. I have quit listening to them about stuff like this. I will listen to specific player discussion because that is stuff I don't know but when it comes to management, team building and things of that nature most them are clueless. That's why guys like Mortenson of ESPN are valuable. He seems to at least listen to the league GMs and coaches and his opinions reflect what they say not what his unknowing eyes tell him. Usually.
Notice how this time of year Mortensen basically says nothing. He doesn't have any articles up recently and is never on ESPN. Its because this is the time of year for rampant speculation which isn't his business and ridiculous chatter. |
