He and Clark (at a decent price) would be a pretty decent safety tandem. Draft one in the second or third round and I'd be satisfied.

We have a safety who can start! Let's hope that this is a good one year rental.

If the pass rush had improved then we can get by for a year with Merriweather, a healthy Thomas and another vet added. A draft pick early would round it out.

Isn't Thomas' injury typically a 2 year injury?

Youth is on his side but you're right, Lisfranc is no joke. We'd be wise to have an insurance plan for him. Rambo and Gumbs do not count.

Re: Redskins re-sign Brandon Meriweather to 1 year deal
In my homer glasses, I think if we get him playing more strong safety he will return to form this year. He knows his career is on the line, and after injuries and being the joke of the league with the irresponsible hits, it's time to prove himself.
Just hope it's a favorable contract with his injury and suspension-prone history.. |

I don't know about 2 year. It's definitely a tough recovery and not a sure thing he ever gets back. I wws speaking optimistically.

Re: Redskins re-sign Brandon Meriweather to 1 year deal
I'm glad this move isn't getting ripped apart as I thought it would ..... Merriweather can be solid IMO, he has shown glimpses of being a good Safety .. now obviously that's all overtaken by the flags and fines .. however I think he can do the job & I must say that I think it's great how the Skins' FO kept this team in tact by signing all of our own FA's. 3-13 isn't a bad season it's an awful season, BUT the guys we kept were the right guys excluding losing Montgomery (i think he got a raw deal and i know the guy personally as a friend, local kid out of Centreville went to high school with him, life long skins' fan too .. total bummer) but i digress ... things are shaping up nicely .. solid draft is the key and maybe another handful of moves ... can't wait for sept

I like Meriweather but hes gotta focus out there. Chicken with head cut off-esque at times.

Re: Redskins re-sign Brandon Meriweather to 1 year deal
Still missing one safety... Rambo played so awful last year im sorry people enough with it. He looked iffy in the college film i had watched before his first start and i pondered how hed fit and still hoped. Nah man, nah.
Cb1- Hall Cb2/Cb3 Situational- Porter / Amerson FS- RAMBO does not fit here. Meri is a strong. SS- Meriweather
