Re: Redskins training camp
It's a fun time. If you're coming from nova, I wouldn't worry about getting a hotel. Also, make sure you know which session you're going to. I went one sat morning expecting a padded practice and ended up watching a walk through.

This article helps, Ill highlight a couple spots: Hardywood Brewery is real close to camp and a nice spot to hang. Buz and Neds BBQ is within walking distance and have great ribs, Im not blowing smoke. When not at Camp, Carytown and the Fan area is a nice place to hang and walk around. This is located really close to camp. Mekong is another place mentioned in the article, extremely awesome place. Vietnamese food and outstanding beer selection. If you like the hipster culture and good food, Saison is outstanding resturant. A buddy from high school is part owner, hard to find beers always on tap and good music playing. There is a map located in that article, look at it, it's solid. Everything you need is around camp when its comes to food, drink, shopping and relax. There is a comfort inn on broad street near camp, its kinda hood but good location. You can pay more and stay downtown at the Omni or Marriot off Broad street, its nicer and cooler things around. Broad Street and Glenside Drive (google maps) intersection is a decent location with solid hotels. Its right off HWY 64. I wouldnt worry about parking.

Re: Redskins training camp
I actually love staying at Aloft near Short Pump. Further away from training camp, but just nice to be walking distance to Dave and Buster's. I know you all have that up in Northern Virginia, but I LOVE that place. Aloft is typically dirt cheap too.
