Re: Preston Smith
Yeah dude went insane Saturday night....Trent Murphy sit down now.
He basically made Jason peters turn into Eric cartman, "screw you guys, I'm going home"

Re: Preston Smith
I mentioned at the beginning of the season to watch this guy. Ever since the veteran players called him out, he has been getting better each week, 7 sacks this season (like Orakpo).

Re: Preston Smith
I think Smith should definitely start. However, I think it'd be great to have Kerrigan, Smith, Galette (if they bring him back), and Murphy as pass rushers next season.

Re: Preston Smith
I wouldn't start him yet. It seems like he is just now getting what it takes to succeed in the NFL. I'd still press him to develop and hopefully really instill in him the notion of constant development. I'm afraid he'll be a guy who thinks he has arrived and doesn't have to keep busting ass to be good. Knock him down a peg constructively and help him refocus even more.

Re: Preston Smith
I'd send him back to the practice squad. Let him know who's boss.

Re: Preston Smith
yeah I think you kinda reward a player that's been working hard, responding to coaching and putting up numbers on the field, especially during the biggest part of the season. One thing about the time share between Murphy and Preston is both should be fresher to go...don't have to worry "rookie wall". Preston really flashed against one of the top Tackles in the league. Arguably the best Tackle the past decade.

Hard work and improvement is rewarded. Players respond to that. I'm for that too. With a culture that puts the best guy on the field, everyone is going to work harder to be the best guy!

Re: Preston Smith
Next year Gallette is still my guy opposite Kerrigan and you rotate Smith in. But the awesome thing about Smith is he's sturdy enough to rush from the 3 or 5 technique on obvious passing downs, you get him Kerrigan and Gallette on the field at the same time. Lot of great flexibility. And pass rushers are like pitchers, you can never have too many.
Very likable kid.

Re: Preston Smith
Sure wish we had JG this year. The pass rush would have been really fun to watch.

Re: Preston Smith
I just put this here but Wil Compton, Mason Foster > Robinson, Riley
Robinson play really tailed off...Compton is dominating his position. Making the calls too. Guy has turned out to be pretty decent.

Re: Preston Smith
Agreed. Really thought Robinson was going to step up after showing improvement but it seems as if he has not only stopped devolping but has actually regressed. Riley always struck me as prototypical "Just A Guy" player. He can play in the NFL, occasionally flashes but is eminently replaceable.
