P/S week 2. Packers thread
I'll be honest, I didn't watch more than about 30 mins of last weeks game.. This game we should show a little more effort I would hope. You guys think Kirk plays a couple series? I sure hope so.
Looking to see the Bama Boys again, both had good games against Bal

Re: P/S week 2. Packers thread
I'm thinking a full quarter for the starting offense. They need to play that long after what they displayed last week.
I want to see the starting D out there for more than a series, maybe see an exotic blitz or two and see if our OLBs can get home. Players I'm excited to see: -Doctson (if he plays) -"the Bama Boys" -Rob Kelley/Perine -Fabian Moreau |

Re: P/S week 2. Packers thread
I watched the full game last week, will do the same this week... it's boring but hell it's Redskins football anyway!
For me it's all about individual evaluation, so I don't really care how long KC and the first offense play. I want to see if Perine is less nervous, because last week he seemed a bit lost. Hope he starts to show his potential. I want the 1st defense to be as efficient as last week. Excited to see the competition at cornerback opposite Norman. Also want to see more of Deshazor Everett. Because I'm not 100% sure Cravens will be ready to play week 1, after a knee surgery.

Per Gruden, Zach Brown and Mason Foster to start at ILB with Foster calling the plays. Just the combination I want to see when the season starts.

Cooley made a great point though: ILB is a tough challenging position, it wears your body down. So having 3 capable guys rotating at this spot can help them stay fresh and healthy. So we might see a more efficient version of Compton thanks to Brown and Foster taking the load of the work (which I hope they'll do).

Perine needs to have a bounce back, I need the 1st and 2nd teams Olines to have the biggest rebounds. Baltimore dominated that offensive LOS the first game. That really didn't sit well with me, I expect more from the talent and the coach.

Re: P/S week 2. Packers thread
On the “wakeup call” last week and if he has changed anything about how the team will prepare for Week 1:
“We’re still preparing. We’re still preparing the same way. We’re going to get these guys prepared. I just think when you talk about ‘wakeup call,’ I just think everybody has to come out and understand the other team has an agenda also. We didn’t match the same agenda, and that’s probably my fault. Quotes: Jay Gruden (08-16-2017) I heard Gruden say this in the press conf the other day. Does this mean that the skins knew the ravens would probably be calling their blitz/pressure D plays but we would be calling non extra pass pro plays? We would run plays not caring what the D formation was? --------------------------------- On if he has decided how long the starters will play against Green Bay: “I have not. You know, it'll be a feeling out there on Saturday, really. I intend on them playing a little bit more than normal, probably, but we'll see how it goes.” Quotes: Jay Gruden (08-17-2017)

Re: P/S week 2. Packers thread
My gut feeling has always been Gruden doesn't care for the preseason, and it usually shows the first two weeks of the regular season.
Maybe it will change, but I really think it is just who he is, and that it's not going to change. |

Hope so, the Rams game will be real interesting with McVay as their HC.

Re: P/S week 2. Packers thread
I desperately want Doctson to succeed and be a huge weapon for us. I think he's just been unlucky with the freak achilles injury. The hammy pull, I think that's pretty common in training camps and off season work, so I'm not putting too much into that. I am torn between wanting to see him in action, and wanting them to let it heal properly and have him 100% for regular season (like they're doing with Galette). I would bet that Jay rests him tonight though.
