Around the NFL week 1
It's here folks. Week 1! Enjoy it because we all know it'll go by fast.
Zeke will play Sunday according to ESPN, but will be suspended weeks 2-7 . That means he'll miss our game. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G920A using Tapatalk

Harold Henderson handled Elliott's appeal for the NFL, and after some time ruled that Elliott would get no reduction from the six-game suspension. The league suspended the second-year running back after a series of alleged domestic violence incidents, though multiple reports say the evidence was compromised throughout the process. Since the suspension came after Tuesday at 4 p.m., the deadline for such moves, the suspension can not take place until Week 2. Elliott has filed for a temporary restraining order (TRO) to stop the suspension until it winds its way through the courts. A Texas judge is scheduled to rule on that by Friday. If the TRO is granted, Elliott could well play the entire season while the process plays out. Should the TRO be denied, Elliott's suspension would run for Weeks 2-7. That would make the final game of the suspension October 29 against the Redskins. No appeal granted for Ezekiel Elliott, but Cowboys star might still play Week 1 | CSN Mid-Atlantic |

I believe the TRO will be granted. And that this will become the way of all NFL suspensions.

While I don't knock the NFLPA for defending Elliott, I believe they are doing the players a huge disservice by making player discipline a huge deal. When time comes to re-negotiate the CBA, player discipline is going to be another bargaining chip that the NFL can use to get their way in financial matters. If I'm an NFL player, I would be more interested in having team concessions in the CBA that offer a better financial outcome to the player. Right now there are rules in place, which discourage teams from spending money and NFL contracts are always team friendly.

As long as he's not successful in getting a stay in federal court, or something.

36 hours away from kickoff.
Chiefs (+9) v Pats at 8:30 o/u 48.5 Chiefs GM thinks they have a SB winning roster .... I dont see it. I see a tough season ahead for the Chiefs.

Re: Around the NFL week 1
Just heard this morning Josh LeRibeus is the starting center in New Orleans, so either we did not see his potential and missed an opportunity or they are absolutely desperate. (Max Unger is their third string)

Re: Around the NFL week 1
Yeah New Orleans is not known for having a tremendous line. LeRib's liabilities in pass protection work OK there though because Brees gets rid of the ball so quickly.
Now I want a McRib.

Re: Around the NFL week 1
Dolphins v Bucs game moved to their mutual bye week of week 11.
Obviously the human aspect, category 5 cane, etc is the top priority and this is just a game. With that said, this is a football forum .. man that sucks for the Phins and Bucs. It helps us to a degree in that Bucs are a competitive team to take one of the WC spots, if they dont take the NFC South title. --------------------------------------------------------------------- Hard Rock Stadium had about $500 million in renovations over the past two years, much of which went toward reinforcing the stadium to withstand a Category 4 hurricane. NFL officially postpones Sunday Tampa Bay Buccaneers-Miami Dolphins game due to Hurricane Irma The Phins stadium might not be playable but there first home game isnt until Oct 1st v Saints, so thats helpful. I doubt that stadium or area would be able to host a game week 2.
