Bobby Taylor at Safety
what do you guys think about using him at safety. i know that he will only get offered the league min. i think we could use him at one of the safety positions to pair with st. i know that we can't get everybody but we can't just let the cowboys rack up. i think he would be a better acquisition than mcquarters by far if he is healthy.

Re: Bobby Taylor at Safety
I personally think saftey is one of our deeper positions; and I'd rather let one of our younger guys like Lott or Clark go. They both played very well last year; and I think they could fill in the saftey position if needed. Ultimatley, I think Matt Bowen will still be the starter.

Re: Bobby Taylor at Safety
yeah so do i. there's no need to upgrade at a position we have plenty of depth at. our defense is set right now, if we needed to upgrade anywhere on there, it would be d-line.

Re: Bobby Taylor at Safety
Not only that, you can't just pick up players because Dallas wants them too.

Re: Bobby Taylor at Safety
im not saying we should get players that dallas wants. im saying they are getting better and we staying put we have to make some key acquisitons not just names. i believe that bobby is an excellent pickup at safety over clark, lott and bowen. i do think that bowen might be release. you guys can not tell me that bowen is better than bobby, please. you all really need to learn the game of football before you be so negative. some players are just made better for the position than what we have.

Re: Bobby Taylor at Safety
Staying put at #3 works for me especially when you consider the return of Arrington and Daniels to the line-up.
And to address the Bowen/Taylor question, I don't think that Bowen is better, I think that Clark will fill in perfectly. I, and I don't believe anyone else said Bowen is better so I wouldn't go criticizing everyone just yet. I think that Taylor would also be an economics question, especially with us looking to maybe glean a few FAs from the cuts.

Re: Bobby Taylor at Safety
Maybe a d-lineman that fits our system will pop out. No one ever expected us to have the run defense that had last year. Projected worst in the league, finished first!
Lets hope our wide receivers follow suit this year!!!!

Re: Bobby Taylor at Safety
everytime i try to look out for my team for some talent everyone just down plays them. all im saying is that taylor probably won't demand the high money and he can still play this game at a high level but not corner. we need to follow teams liike new england and get smart, talented veterans who wants to play for the team not themselves. he has been one of the good guys in this league who has never gotten into any trouble. i really like this dude's game.

Re: Bobby Taylor at Safety
and by the way bowen sucks in pass coverage and we know that gw wants safeties who has played corner in their careers.

Re: Bobby Taylor at Safety
No doubt about that. He is was/is one of the best in the league. I wouldn't have a problem signing him if it weren't for economical reasons and for the "havin' cake and eatin' it too" reason; meaning that we couldn't possibly sign him AND still have room for positions of need.

I think that Williams is looking for speed and blitzing ability in a saftey, a monster on the d-line, and a pure pass rushing end. We have those positions filled adequately, so we can be patient and have the money ready when we find one of the three.

Re: Bobby Taylor at Safety
if williams is interested, then ok.but i haven't heard anything anywhere to suggest that the man is interested. n d end or tackle upgrade would be sweet. but the cap is an issue. i think they are really looking but the main question is economic's. i just hope taylor dosen't do a hold out.

Re: Bobby Taylor at Safety
Bowen IS better than Bobby. This is a guy who is way past his prime, who was released one year into his deal after not performing, and who plays a position that we have a raft of talent at already. The old Skins would have signed him but the new fiscally responsible Gibbs led Redskins will not.
In spite of all the criticisms on this board of Snyder's profligate spending habits - legitimate to be sure - its pretty ironic that everytime some washed up bum gets released you can count on at least someone on this site to go off on why we should sign them. |
