How likely is it Ron and the front office will pursue Aaron Rogers?
Aaron Roger's says he doesn't want to be a part of a rebuild in Green Bay ? So where will he go ? Would you welcome Roger's here in Washington ? Would he come here ? Considering that outside of Kenny Pickett the draft class for QBs is so so.....plus signing Rogers would allow the front office to spend a first round pick on a wide receiver or a position on the defense that needs help.....

But I'd still draft a QB in the 1st or 2nd round. He is 38, until more than the GOAT proves he can play well into his 40's, I'll assume Brady is a unicorn. Note - No way I think he wants to come here, so it's moot as an overall possibility. I'm moreso talking about from our perspective if there was a chance he would come here.

Hopefully not, too expensive for an old choker. You’ll have to give out picks and players and to top it off pay a huge salary, no thanks.

And then knowing he's gonna get pissy if you draft a qb, I mean I would still trade for him if the price was reasonable. Not paying a RG3 type haul but I'd give up two 1's and Daron Payne for him.

PASS! Vet QB? Yes! 35 plus years old? No! Id down for a Derrick Carr or Russell Wilson over him.

Re: How likely is it Ron and the front office will pursue Aaron Rogers?
Some seem to be missing the point that we wont have a 1st round pick if we trade for someone, probably not a 2nd or a 1st next years either. None of these teams are going to give up franchise QBs cheaply even if/when we take all of the cap hit. There will be a strong market with some teams willing to give up a ton of picks to get them and, taking off the rose tinted glasses, much better potential destinations than WFT.
The cap hit/draft pick compensation means it is unlikely Ron will be able to significantly improve the roster if he trades for one of these guys, and I just don't see a Rodgers or Wilson looking at it as a contender as it stands. And it still remains the fact that Danny is running the team and they know it, so if Ron doesn't show significant improvement over the next two years, or even next year, the could be looking at a team with another coach/front office and in rebuild. I expect that WFT won't be on the lists of their preferred teams however hard Ron swings for the fences. |

Re: How likely is it Ron and the front office will pursue Aaron Rogers?
I don't think Ron will because I am not sure that is the character guy he wants. I don't think the ask is too much though. GB is up against the cap they are going to have to take a huge chunk of his salary on just to move him so that will drive down his cap hit. He also carries a Jimmy G. size dead cap space so they are up against it. Yes it would take draft picks maybe even three firsts but earlier this year would you have traded Sweat, Jamon Davis and our upcoming 1st for AR12? I would assume so. regardless if we are trading for a vet QB don't expect to have a first next draft and probably no second either. In the end though I don't think he is a guy Ron would want. So we won't see him and Shailene perineal sunning on the cover of Washingtonian anytime soon.

Re: How likely is it Ron and the front office will pursue Aaron Rogers?
I'd love to see AR here. Getting him instantly makes WFT the top team in the division. I doubt he'd want to come to the most dysfunctional organization in the NFL but if the price is right he'd do it.
The other QB I'd like to see WFT take a look at is Brady. He has a couple years left in him and would instantly make WFT better. While there's a chance AR could come to WFT, there's no way Brady would. |

Re: How likely is it Ron and the front office will pursue Aaron Rogers?
I don't think Rodgers would be interested in coming to Washington. He said he's not down for a rebuild in Green Bay. I'm not sure he'd view us to be in a much different position.
We look at this team as just needing a few more pieces. I don't think others nationally, and especially inside the NFL, see it the same way.

I think you have a better chance with Russell Wilson. Being from Richmond, and with a stadium looking like it's headed to Northern VA, there's a chance he might be interested in 'coming home'.

Anyone against going after Rodgers is completely and utterly insane. He would instantly make us strong SB contenders in the NFC. Of course you have to swing big on him if you're Ron.

If you could Adams to come as well then Rogers might be happy.

What's your CAP space and will it put you in CAP hell?
