Re: 2022 Commanders Training Camp discussion
Starting to wonder when Chase Young will return 100% based off Rivera's comments yesterday. Hopefully soon. He basically implied Thomas should be ready to go prior to Young. Really hope Young reaches his potential when he returns.

Re: 2022 Commanders Training Camp discussion
-- Rivera addressed the team placing Chase Young, Chase Roullier, Tyler Larsen and Logan Thomas on the PUP list at the start of the press conference. Roullier has had some "really good sessions" and might be the first person off the list. Thomas and Larsen are a little further along, and Young will likely take the most time considering the significance of his injury.
-- Rivera was quick to answer a question about whether this season is "playoffs or bust." "No. It's fair to say we expect to win. And we'll leave it at that." -- Rivera feels "very good" about the linebackers on the roster and believes they fit the team's vision for the defense. There's still a possibility the Commanders could add a veteran to the group, but he wants to give the position a week to show what they have to offer. https://www.commanders.com/news/quic...ess-conference Good news on Roullier, we need him back w Larsen out longer. Chase Young .. seems destined for 4 game PUP list, which is good, he had a complex surgery |

I liked that Ron is not saying this is a playoffs or bust season. No need to set those expectations and give the fans and media something to harp on all year.

I'm glad he does but we need to see results. Sure hope him and JDR are right about Jamin Davis. This unit will be watched closely in camp for sure. Hope they do flash in preseason getting ready for the real season.

We should be in panic mode with Holcomb in the first place. Him going down would be there is always next season mode. Man we need to sure up the middle of our defense- mlb and s. To me it is just a gaping glaring hole.

Re: 2022 Commanders Training Camp discussion
I feel like the hole at linebacker is so glaring that if the position is anything less than solid throughout 2022 then it's a fireable offense for somebody. Because it's so frickin obviously a problem. My nephew playing Madden would be like shit I better fix that.

Re: 2022 Commanders Training Camp discussion
John Keim article:
https://www.espn.com/nfl/story/_/id/...ton-commanders Wentz connected with receiver Terry McLaurin on a deep corner route for approximately 40 yards. Later, there was another telling moment when he threw a bit behind McLaurin, who reached back for a completion. As Rivera wondered if Wentz was late, he saw McLaurin run up to Wentz and let him know it was his fault -- he was too quick to come out of his route. "We were able to connect off the bat," McLaurin said. "And just to see his command of the huddle was really good. He was calling the plays really strong and that gives confidence to the other 10 guys in the huddle that we have a guy who will be attention-to-detail-oriented. It gives us a chance to make plays."
