JD5 is still the pick?

Tupac once asked, R U Still Down? 2 years after his death…In 1997, the answer was a definite yes from me.

Once again that question arises from the ashes of a shit season, R U Still Down with JD5 as your QB1 in the year of our lord 2026?

Should we have taken Nix, Maye ahead of JD5? You still got him ahead of the finger painting bitch Caleb?

Is his injuries just too much of a headache and should we be searching for a replacement?

I’m still down taking him ahead of everyone in the draft…I still believe he is the best passer in his class is my reasoning and he his just a gamer. But gotta be honest, the answer has gotten my closer to others after the year.

Am I looking to move on scared of the injury bug? Hell no, but I’m looking to add a young QB to the squad in the mid rounds. It’s just smart call.

R U Still Down?

Re: JD5 is still the pick?

Lol. I think I am still down. Still excited to see him with some better talent and smarter decisions being made. I think so much rides on AP getting this offseason right. We have money to spend, but we have a zillion holes If we can fix the oline, wr corps, rb situation, tight end then JD can be more 2024 instead of 2025. AP has to get everything right. That scares me. I will say that his accuracy last year scared me but Ive seen him do it so….

Anyway thanks Chico for reminding me that we might have a QB problem. My anxiety was hovering nicely around a 4 today and now it is a solid 6.

Still the guy for me. Blough is now the key to unlocking everything JD5 can be. So far he's been the best of them in the playoffs, but like the others, he'll need a D to lean on occasionally. And it goes without saying an upgrade or 2 in the WR and TE rooms.

I’m still 110% behind him.

The talent is undeniable. He just has to stay healthy.

I would have picked Maye back then, but I'm fine with JD right now. I think he can do the job, but he's got to stop running and know when to slide.

I am all in on JD. Every single one of the other QBs has a more complete team around him than JD. From what I've seen he is the most talented of the group in what appears to be an incredibly talented and fun group to watch.

I am also all in on JD5 although his health is becoming a concern. Hoping last season was a one off. Cannot coach is work ethic, speed, quick release, and clutch play. This is a big season for him though in 2026.

Let's go JD5!

I am going to disagree with this a bit. All of those things can be coached and improved and quite extensively. I think what I see is he has those abilities pretty well developed already.

You are misinterpreting my post. I am stating he has skills (speed, quick release, etc.) that are natural talent rather than coach aided. Kid is a stud just needs to stay healthy. Yes, he can get better but taking his team nearly to the SB as a rookie is pretty telling. Health is the primary concern with him.
