Re: Madden '06 IGN Review: 8.8
heh. truth be told, im not too high on it myself, i was hoping for some new presentation features, a halftime show, or perhaps a pregame or aftergame show, and a super bowl halftime show, but they didn't do that. hopefully in the next gen consoles they improve the graphics, put in all those presentation features and a lot more.

I can't believe there are no new tackles or anything like that. To me, just adding new animations like that make the game soooo much better.

Re: Madden '06 IGN Review: 8.8
It took awhile for the 'new look' shoulder pads on '05 to grow on me but, after de-recycling my drink coaster Madden '04 and playing it again, I deemed it a necessary improvement. I know everyone wishes EA minimizes the stuff that we don't want and maximize the stuff we do want, but everybody doesn't want the same thing! Anyway, I'll be camping out monday night to be one firsts to get it.

Re: Madden '06 IGN Review: 8.8
This review is obviously from a casual fan... he as much admits so and says that EA caters to the hardcore gamer with Madden. Hello, doesn't it make more sense to have a hardcore Madden guy review the game then?
This guy doesn't think there is anything wrong with the passing in previous editions of Madden. Maybe not if you're a casual fan, but for the hardcore guys we've been screaming for a more realistic passing game for years. The days of taking a scrub QB and throwing all over the field with him are hopefully over with. I'm not sure if this review mentions it, but if you don't like the new passing system it can be turned off, which will probably please the casual fans like this reviewer. If you don't like a football sim play blitz or something. |

You are totally right Matty. His thesis is that average players won't be able to appreciate the improvements. Sucks for those people, but I don't think he's talking about most of us.
I rememember the reviewer last year - in a gushing appraisal of the game - said you wouldn't notice the defensive improvements unless you played on the all-Madden difficulty level. Let's bring that guy back. |
