Cowboys MNF Game

I'm surprised nobody started a thread on this already. The Cowboys looked so-so, Seattle had a lot of dropped passes, but that DE Dallas drafted that they made a linebacker is a frickin monster (demarcus ware I think is his name,he made big play after big play). He's going to give us fits when we play them.

Re: cowboys mnf game

i agree. i am a little worried about the way demarcus ware played tonight, i think the stats for him were 1 sack, 1 interception, 2 forced fumbles, 1 fumble recovery, and 3 tackles. those numbers worry me, who else thinks that they might have a beast here?

Re: cowboys mnf game

Ware looked very good--the roids D will definetly be better than last year. They also ran the ball well with J. Jones. But they did not look good in the passing game. My guess is that if you shut down their run, they are going to have trouble. But no doubt Parcells wasn't showing much, given that the teams play in the regular season.

As for Seatle, they had a nice drive where that west coast holmgren O clicked--just walked down the field. But their D looked unimpresive, and their WRs still were dropping balls. TOs allowed the boys to win in the end.

TOs will kill ya!

I hate the cowboys. Made me ill just to see them. Ugh.

I think that Ware is a gem that the cowboys have got out of the draft, but I did notice that if a team can pick up the blitz the cowboys secondary sucks...

Bobby Engram made T. Newman look like our Ade Jimoh, and Henry did not look that great either... So as for what I saw of the game, the cowboys D looks slightly better than last year but there secondary is just bad, a "passing" team will have there way with the cowboys!!!!

Ware is scary, That man looks very good in coverage and his pash rush ability. But my goodness, I hope we kick their *** twice this year. That would make my whole YEAR.

On the one hand I think to myself, it's only one preseason game. On the other hand, he looked very, very quick and strong. He beat out Steve Hutchinson (a great guard) to sack Hasselbeck and force the fumble. He also looked very good in coverage (snagging that INT). He could in fact turn out to be the monster that many projected him to become.

While the Cowboys front seven looked very impressive (even without NT Ferguson), their offense didn't scare me all that much. Jones looked good, but for the most part their passing game stank.

Re: Cowboys MNF Game

i hear they are having problems with their 3-4 due to injuries and we will not see as much of it as expected before, but Ware is a beast and i have no problem admitting it. Madden said he was confused last week but still those stats were amazing and he was in on every big play that he was on the field. But the rest of the defense played pretty bad. He was the best player on D no doubt. I just think our line can hold any threat that he will impose and he isn't as quick as clinton. I still think Derrick Johnson is the best Defender taken in the draft. woops we play him too:frusty:

Johnson couldn't sniff this kid's jock. Parcells know's exactly how to use a player like Ware he will only continue to get better.

Re: Cowboys MNF Game

dallas still spent a lot of picks on a dline that wasnt the worst part of their D last year... and then overpaid for a craptastic corner (compared to talent available at the same price).

but ware is a monster... those stats are sick and i'm assuming he didn't play the whole game...

still, he's only one guy and the rest of the D seemed a bit bland (coverage etc)... hopefully he chokes hard twice this year

Just like Parcells said, "Don't put him [Ware] in Canton yet."

Re: Cowboys MNF Game

It's only one game, but I gotta say I was VERY impressed by Ware last night. He moves incredibly well for a big man and showed some great instincts in getting at the ball. On that interception, he made up 2 1/2 steps on Jeremy Stevens in like 4-5 strides.......I had to rewind the Tivo and see if I actually saw what I thought I saw......I couldn't believe he had that kind of speed for being a DE last year. Let's hope he's already had his career game.

Other than that, I was pretty unimpressed with the Cowgirls offense.......really, there isn't a single thing about their offense that scares me.

The Seahawks looked, surprise surprise, inconsistent. Overall I thought they looked better on defense than last year (especially the d-line) and Alexander is running well. The WRs (except for my boy Bobby Engram) are still dropping passes right and left. For the Seahawks, the biggest bright spot was probably Jeremy Stevens finally looking like he might live up to his potential and Shaun Alexander giving a very upbeat and optimistic interview on the sideline regarding his contract situation. They are fools if they don't get a deal done with him (and it looks like they will).

Re: Cowboys MNF Game

Actually Julius Jones still worries me a bit. With that o-line and our defense, I'm probably way more worried than I should be.

Re: Cowboys MNF Game

Jones and Ware both looked good but two players cannot win your games for you. Look at us last years we had a whole D that played great and we were still 6&10. We had a great runner in Portis and we were still 6&10. If last night was a look into their passing game teams will stack the line and shut jones down as they did to Portis last year. Teams can game plan for Ware and Seahawks played very slopy foot ball leaving the ball very exposed to the fumbles.
