Re: Sterling Sharpe Gone???

i certainly hope not. that butch Butch Davis sucks ass on Playbook. He just doesn't fit in, being a coach less than a year ago. He struggles to flow with the program, they were discussing Tony Gonzalez being the best tight end in the game today and he was like: Uhhhh, welll, (pause), tony gonzalez is uhhh, a redzone threat. He can catch the ball, and, uhhhh, etc. You get my point. I like how they get into arguments sometimes, but the butch is like a pansy, he just really sucks. I hope they boot his ass into unemployment soon. God i hope i never see that butch on tv again. I was gonna make a topic about this, i really hope sterling sharpe will be back soon.

Re: Sterling Sharpe Gone???

Sterling Sharpe is going to be doing some color commentary for ESPN late in the season. I don't know if that impacts his NFL Network work

Whatever; although less animated than his coke-buzzing counterpart, Sharpe's actual analysis was both more substantive and illuminating than Irving's incoherent rants. Most of the time I don't even know what the hell Mike is talking about, and I'm not sure he does either.

Re: Sterling Sharpe Gone???

According to the press release announcing the addition of Davis, Sharpe will continue to work with the Playbook team. I'm sure they will rotate the chairs so we will continue to hear different perspectives.

Re: Sterling Sharpe Gone???

Irvin over Sharpe??

Give me Sharpe anyday. Irvin just comes off as a blowhard to me. He gets all pumped up and doesn't have much to say.

I always like Sharpe's analysis.

Re: Sterling Sharpe Gone???

I loved Sharpe's analysis on ESPN. When he moved over to NFL Network, I thought he went for more style than substance.

Re: Sterling Sharpe Gone???

Sharpe is light years ahead of Irvin when it comes to analysis.

Can't wait for football season start. I love all those pre and post game shows. I need my Tom Jackson fix!!

Re: Sterling Sharpe Gone???

Surprisingly, I've found that I enjoy Troy Aikman as a color-guy/analyst. He's not fluff and he speaks English. Maybe that's a hanging offense (to like an ex-Boy) buy I'd rather listen to him and Moose call a game than listen to that idiot Paul McGuire. I get so angry at that Paul guy for making stupid comments or saying things that are just wrong. I'm glad they're getting him away from Joey T next year in the broadcast booth.

As for Sterling Sharpe, he's alright - he makes me laugh and generally has something to say, but Michael Irvin bores me - he tries to be entertaining but I'm not buying it.

Re: Sterling Sharpe Gone???

I like Aikman in the booth, but not Moose.

Speaking of bad commentators, how about our own Darrell Green? Keep working DG, you've got a long way to go.

"You talk about somebody who is a horrible color guy? You wanna see some body who doesn't know what their doing? Watch this, wait for it, BAM! I suck!"

- Everything Paul McGuire says
