Eagles - Are they plucked?

Their star would appear to be on the wane.

There isn't any doubt the Eagles are unlucky...as has been posted multiple times in multiple threads. I think Buckhalter's injury may be more important then people think, there is no depth past him at RB. If Westbrook has to take more snaps over the year, it could very well wear down this already undersized back. As McNabb says Westbrook is the #1 threat on the team.

The Eagles didn't have Buckhalter last year either, and they were fine. They had Levens, and they'll probably resign him. I don't think this changes much for them. As sickening as it is, I think they'll still kick ass in the NFC.

Ryan Moats is impressing a lot of people, so don't say they don't have depth at RB...

I totally agree, even if TO goes down I think they still win the division, but if something happens to Westbrook I do think they are in trouble

Re: Eagles - Are they plucked?

Westbrook and McNabb are crucial on offense. BUt the D can carry them pretty far too. I hate them, but they are fine. Still the team to beat in the entire NFC, IMO. Beating them at least once this year would be a great thing.

Until they get beat, they are still the best team in the division as far as I'm concerned. With or without TO, I still think they are the class of the division and probaboly the conference. I hope this is the year they go down, but I've said for the last few years they were going to fall and have been wrong.

I was hoping they would really lose TO. and then westbrook accidentally broke a leg. Then it would be a toss up.

Re: Eagles - Are they plucked?

Westbrook does have a history of injury, so something happening to him is very possible. Still, it's not in my nature to wish injury on anyone, even if it is the Eagles. I hope when we beat them this year they have all their players on the field.

Re: Eagles - Are they plucked?

At some point in every great team's history, despite the fact that they keep their great players, they just aren't the same. Troy Aikman's last season with the Cowboys - even with Irvin and Emmitt there - they weren't the same team. With the distractions this Philly team has faced this year, we may be looking at their fall from elite status. It only takes a little complacency to make greatness average.

We live in hope. Remember that season they had where everyone thought Reid was going to get fired for sticking with McNabb? I think that may be the kind of season they have this year.

Three words: Madden Cover Jinx :FIREdevil

Seriously though, they play so well along the lines, their secondary is great and they just execute so well because most of them have been playing together for a while. They are the team to beat in the NFC, regardless of injuries, until another team steps up to the plate and knocks them off. Let's hope that team is the Skins and let's hope it happens this year.

I don't think they'll win as many games this year, but i think they'll be fine.

Re: Eagles - Are they plucked?

The Eagles are, unfortunately, still the team to beat in the NFC until someone smashes them in the face and knocks 'em off their pedestal. I think they'll be a top team in the NFC, but I don't seem them being dominate.
