FOX Sports - Guaranteed to happen this season... sort of

I almost feel like Jerry Springer posting this crap up just to get a reaction but here it goes.... people shoudn't drink and type!

http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/story/4...40813162&ATT=5

2. The Redskins will be a last-place team

Say it isn't so Joe. The NFC East clearly belongs to the Philadelphia Eagles. The next two slots will go to the Cowboys and Giants, both coming off of very good off-seasons, leaving Joe Gibbs' boys in the basement. There's no way you can tell me the 'Skins have better talent now than one year ago. Right after Gibbs called linebacker Antonio Pierce and cornerback Fred Smoot "Core Redskins," owner Dan Snyder forgot where his checkbook was and let them walk to the Giants and Vikings respectively.

Wide receiver Santana Moss isn't as good as Laveranues Coles, whom the Redskins traded to get Moss. And while you certainly can sell me on the fact that wide receiver Rod Gardner needed a change of venue, you can't convince me David Patten is a go-to option as his replacement. The Patriots didn't even try to bring Patten back. Have New England's Bill Belichick and Scott Pioli ever been wrong?

It's obvious that Gibbs doesn't endorse Patrick Ramsey at quarterback. The coach proved that by drafting Jason Campbell with the team's second first-round pick and by keeping 2004 disaster Mark Brunell around. As a result, Ramsey plays looking over his shoulder.

Clinton Portis isn't comfortable running Gibbs' style of offense. Last year, he complained that the offense was too predictable. Portis wants the offensive line to block more like it did in Denver. Running backs coach Ernest Byner says he talked with former Denver offensive line coach Alex Gibbs about making adjustments. I talked to team executive Vinny Cerrato, who says nothing has changed. Chaos still rules at Redskins Park. In the secondary, rookie cornerback Carlos Rogers is banged up. Walt Harris has to play way too much. And Sean Taylor has a legal mess hanging over his head.

I wonder what he had to say about Smoot and Pierce before last season? Maybe he should trust Gregg Williams to make adjustments.

Last I checked C Rogers was looking pretty healthy?

Yeah, I can tell that Taylor is real stressed out over his "legal mess."

Maybe this guy didn't see Portis in the Steelers preseason game?

The Patriots didn't try to bring back Ty Law and Lawyer Milloy?

I said it before. I love this stuff. This is the best press we could get at this point. People are going to be way over-confident when they play us. People are already penciling in wins against us. They're going to come out flat. Teams that look great are going to have let-down games against us; then in the locker room, we'll here, "Oh, we beat ourselves, the skins didn't really do it, we came out flat, etc." And dorks like this writer will keep down-playing and dismissing us. I'm telling you--he's working for us, though he doesn't know it.

I realize that pro-athletes are above this, etc. but all it takes is a little let-down. Plus, we all know that the skins read the papers. The chip on the shoulder is that much larger.

Thanks, Adam Schein!

sounds like he's trying to hard to find reasons for the skins to tank... rodgers issn't banged up, harris hasn't played much, taylor has shown that legal thing mean nothing to him, a scout and RB coach don't communicate every day? who'd have thunk that?

seriously, he thinks J Jones will lead in rushing, praises the bills D and their RB (GW made that D, and took a lot of shit picking that RB), some of this stuff is just insane... he think both rookie QBs (losman and orton) will have great years, as well as boller... yet our team with a great D and RB is doomed to an existance of cellar-dwelling because the giants had a better offseason? the freeking giants? we got arrington and jansen back as well as rabach another starting LB, CB, and two more starting safeties, and the giants had a better offseason?

I resemble that remark .......GO SPURS GO

I think Carlos Rogers has looked great.......I think he will make everyone forget about Smoot.....

and as far as Coles over Moss, if Coles had stayed with the team, then the media would be saying...well his toe is a concern.......

Against a good Steeler defense, Portis was running well......guess Gibbs adjusted........

And the Gints golden boy Eli is banged up.........and if he can't go they will have to rely on TIM Hasselbeck............and EX-Redskin QB.......

At this point, nobody who is truly a Redskin fan can expect anything written to be nice to us. Face it, we are the only ones that think we have what it takes. In order for the bad articles to stop, we have to be a winning team. I used to get angry about these articles, but i've realized it doesn't matter, until we start winning.

But other teams with same win-loss record or worse (ie Dallas, Gints) get praise from these same media guys and that is what gets on my last nerve

that's because they had supposedly "good" offseasons, full of change. that's something we didn't have, so they don't have a reason to say we are better.

This guy is a genius, here are his other gems.

Kyle Orton will win more games than Brett Favre.

Kyle Boller to the postseason.

The Bills will play the second weekend in January.

Julius Jones will lead the NFL in rushing.

Carolina will win the Super Bowl.

*YAWN*

Feel free to hammer this guy with emails complimenting him on his brilliant analysis.

Same old bullsh**t journalism being re-hashed over and over. I think these guys all read the Street & Smith and edit the articles a little and print their names at the top. And whether or not Coles is better than Moss remains to be seen. We can talk about last year all day long but the proof will be in the pudden on Sept. 11 baby!!

Re: FOX Sports - Guaranteed to happen this season... sort of

I just smile and remember the 1981 season. Gibbs had just finished his first year. After an 0-5 beginning, he went 8-3. Still the pundits said things like, "Young coach", "Players are too old", "Running back still looks unmotivated"...blah blah blah. 1982=1st Super Bowl victory.

Most of these clowns write this stuff without ever having visited a Redskin camp or watched a game. They pre-suppose that pre-season equates to regular season (God help that 1991 Redskins team that went 0-4 in pre-season). These writers have to write a column or a full article to satisfy their editors. Ask this writer to name the starting O-Line left to right and he would stare dumbly at you. 90 percent of sports writing is literary welfare.

I've watched nearly every Redskin team and game for 35 years, and I can say with assurance that THIS team is a good team. And it is well-coached. So, pack up the articles, send them to Redskin Park and let the guys post them on their lockers. I want to see Dockery spitting out pieces of silver, blue and green helmets this season.

By the way the Skins won 3 out of their last 5. The two they lost were by 3 points each, and the only loss last season that qualifies as a blowout was a 28-6 loss in Philly. Nearly every other loss was a touchdown or less. They were not far off last year.
