Ex-Skins this Preseason

With the departure of Smoot, Pierce, and Baily the year before, how do we feel about the corner situation now that preseason is finally over. And has Marshall been an adequate replacement for Pierce?

By the way, how have those guys played with their respective new teams this pre-season? Other than Pierce, I haven't heard much.

our cb situation is fine. i feel good about our defense as a whole. Marshall is an adequate replacement for Pierce.

All I know is he had a fumble recovery a couple of weeks ago. Other than that I haven't heard much. Neither I have heard anything on Smoot.

I think that C.Griff and Salave'a will be even better this year in the middle and that will help Marshall a lot. Not to mention ole #56 back on the field.

I feel good about the CB situation as well. I think Carlos will be starting possibly after the bye week.

I saw where Sultan McCullough had nearly 100 yds. rushing, Sage had a great game for Miami, Iffy was picked up by Cincy, DMac by Phily. I don't much care about the gynts, and haven't checked on the State of the Union in Minn.

I saw that where Sultan had a good game. I think anybody could play for Miami right now - Sage may get shot later.

I thought Smoot is injured, so there keeping him out to get him ready to go for the season.

The vi-queens play tonight! Smoot might make a minor appearance, just like our starters did.

The D will be better than last year. They have looked great starters on starters. The return of Lavar has softened the blow of losing A.Pierce. Gone and.......................forgotten

There's still some concern. But I guess you can say no individual is better than the team as a whole. And guys still look as if they're not on the same page.

Re: Ex-Skins this Preseason

I saw the Giants game and Pierce looked really good; he was in on a lot of tackles and almost got a safety on Curtis Martin. He's the one recently departed Redskin that I think we could miss.

Smoot hasn't seen much time in Minnesota due to injury, but he'll be a good addition to the Vikings defense. While I'm not confident that Rogers can step in immediately and play as well as Smoot would, he'll probably be a better fit for us in the long haul. Smoot was a cover guy and that's about it; his size limited his ability to blitz and stuff the run effectively. Rogers is a much more versatile back; he can cover, blitz, stuff the run, and is generally a better tackler.

If Frerotte goes down in Miami I think Rosenfels will be 2nd in line because Feeley is pulling a Chad Hutchinson. Feeley has looked worse than he did last year. He makes some Ramseyesque decisions with incomprehensible pick offs to wide open cb's.

Say what you will about his play, but I've always thought Sage was a pretty decent person so I sure hope no one shoots him.
