New Bandwagon - Start Campbell?
Seeing as how we're all very emotional here and jumping/constructing various bandwagons all heading in different directions, I just thought I'd stir the pot a little...and mix some metaphors.
Who is for starting Jason Campbell as soon as possible? So as not to wimp out on my own question, I am for starting Campbell. I think Ramsey is done for any way you look at it. Even if Gibbs started him again, his confidence is shattered and he no longer wants to be here. We can argue all we want about Brunell, but does anyone really truly believe he's the "quarterback of the future"? He's what, 35, 36? He's a band-aid, and a kind of soiled, leaky band-aid at that. Call me crazy, but I'm for putting Campbell in as soon as possible. I say since there's no real winning alternative right now, we might as well see what he can do. Maybe he's the next Roethlisberger waiting in the wings, maybe he's a waste of a draft pick. Either way, there's no sense in wasting time finding out. Start the kid and see how he does - he can move well and he had a great career at Auburn, let's see what he can do. |

I'll be the first guy on this bandwagon when he can handle the cart.
He's the future in my opinion but needs to slow cook like good BBQ. Think "Steve Young" peace

I'm inclined to just throw him in there and see what happens. Can it get worse than it is? (No, the sky isn't falling after 1 game...I exaggerate) |

Re: New Bandwagon - Start Campbell?
Definitely no.
If Ramsey isn't ready, how can we say Campbell is? If Gibbs wants efficiency and turnover free play from his QB, a rookie QB is not the way to go. |

Gibbs should read your post SBF and apply it to Ramsey. |

Re: New Bandwagon - Start Campbell?
we should have put Campbell in more preseason games. apparently those can take you from worst ranked QB in the NFL to your team's best hope in just four meaningless games.

Now, granted, Roethlisberger is the exception, not the rule. I still don't see it being much worse than it is. I didn't make it to any of the preseason games, but can anyone comment on Campbell's ability? I remember him well from college, but he seemed to have incredibly limited play time this preseason. |

brunell is strong enough to push the cart we call the redskins. campbell isn't strong enough to push the cart yet.

Re: New Bandwagon - Start Campbell?
If we want to be the Bears, then start Campbell, otherwise Brunell is a much better choice right now. Who knows, I don't wish anything bad on Brunell, but what happens the next time he gets hit and has to come out? Who goes in, Ramsey or Campbell? Wouldn't it be interesting if Brunell got hurt and Ramsey lead a great comeback error free!

Re: New Bandwagon - Start Campbell?
This shit is getting ridiculous. Everyone, with the exception of a few, have written this team off due to the QB change. With a defense as good as this one, anything is possible here people. Don't give up hope!!! I don't agree with the change either, but I do know that Gibbs knows football and the team he is coaching a hell of alot better than any of us.
Lets hope like hell he is right on this and stand behind it 100%. If it doesn't work out over the long term, then we can question the judgement of the king. But until then, all these threads about starting Campbell and Ramsey getting the shaft should come to an end until he has actually killed the teams chances. And to the best of my knowledge, that hasn't happened yet...even with a loss Monday Night in Dallas, it wouldn't be a disaster.
