What IS pass interference???
Patten gets called for tapping a defender (who also had his hand on Patten, by the way) and that is pass interference. Ok. Then Cooley gets MUGGED near the sideline and it NOT pass interference. That was a big 'no call' because it would have set us up inside the ten, out of bounds stopping the clock. We get the TD and even if the 2 pointer is no good, there is still A LOT more time on the clock. I know it's only one play (like the 'no safety') but COME ON!! So I would like to know what exactly is Pass Interference?

Re: What IS pass interference???
At least we're starting to knock the refs out when the keep robbing us. I say if we keep that up and word gets out, we'll start getting some better calls.

Re: What IS pass interference???
That Patten one was a big wtf, but we scored on that one in the 1st or 2nd so whatever. Now that you mention it, that Cooley one really upsets me. Yeah its a bunch of "what ifs" but he got freaking gang raped and that wasent PI???
Oh well. Were 3-1, which is really good, but I really wanna be 4-1 next week and not 3-2.

Re: What IS pass interference???
PI is the most subjective call, it can differ from play to play, game to game.
The lack of consistency is very frustrating. |

Re: What IS pass interference???
There are two different types of officiating:
Type A: Standard Officiating - where the officials call the game as clean and fair as possible, even reviewing the rule book before the game and confering at midfield regularly on calls that are even slightly questionable. Type B: Redskin Officiating - where the officials take the day off and hire local drifters from shelters. After a bath, shave and heroin injection they are given a 'football primer' on 989 Sports' Gameday 2000 on the original PlayStation and encouraged to "throw the pretty yellow flag when the team in maroon does something and people cheer."

Game ball to Royal for blocking his man straight into that Umpire.
I agree that the Pass Interference calls have been strange this season. Not just in the game today, but in a lot of the games I've seen. It just pisses me off more when they blow one...or four... against the Skins. |

Can we take anything to help prevent or cure Type B officiating? Or is it terminal?

Re: What IS pass interference???
We were very unlucky on that one to have it happen right in front of the ref, that none call was an absolute joke! They sure go out of their way to get the calls against us right don't they.
