Do we need more cornerbacks?
Just to take a few secs to introduce myself, 28 yr old skins fan, been a fan since I was six when I first attended RFK w/ my dad. Now a season ticket holder myself. Im a die hard fan and have been to nearly every home game for the past 12 yrs, and have even ventured to Philly and NY for skins games (Philly is dangerous!)
Ok now with the question: Is it wise for the redskins to only carry 4 cornerbacks? It really bothers me that we have two starting cornerbacks, that are injury prone (they have held up and I like them both) but behind them we have Rogers who is a rookie and Jimoh (who did play well last week) but is by no means a starter in the NFL. With the propensity for NFL teams to have 4 and 5 WR sets, we could potentially have covering them, a rookie, a special teamer, a safety, and LB's. Does that worry anyone else? We will face a great team this week in KC that can put up a bunch of yards in the air, Harris and Springs are supposed to start but neither is 100%, should the skins have searched the waiver wires for an extra CB?

Re: Cornerbacks
I think we should at least have another CB on the practice squad so he can learn the D system, so he can be brought on if we have another CB go down

Re: Cornerbacks
I think this is a really good question I am wondering do most teams carry 5? If they do carry 5 do they leave one inactive? What did we do last year? Seems weird to be carrying only 4 at such an important spot. Who plays nickle when Harris and Springs are out? What if a team goes 4 wide?

Re: Cornerbacks
With the ineffective D-line (with two useless DEs), the average LBs (except M. Washington), and the banged up secondary, if we are a top 5 defense at the end of the year, GW deserves the Nobel Prize for defense. That will be a truly remarkable achievement, probably the greatest ever by a skins def. coordinator.

Re: Cornerbacks
Taylor can play Man to Man
Prioleau was a corner in college Stoudamire was a corner in college Clark was a Corner for NYG williams knows what he wants and he likes CB's all over the place, he just likes CB's who can hit to play Safety Bowen is the only one i think that doesnt have CB experience and i dont want him to start getting some here |

Re: Cornerbacks
I also have to say that in the games that Pierson played, he was playing excellent football.

Re: Cornerbacks
Ok I understand that we have safeties that can play CB if need be, but look at it this way. We have NFL backups at DL we have NFL backups at LB now we are moving towards NFL backups as CB and at safety if we move the safeties to CB. I love GW and his system has done wonders, its great!, but you cant keep a top ten defense in the NFL with sub par talent

Re: Cornerbacks
