Make a bed, lay in it.
I thought it was PATHETIC today to have Mark B. [#8] in the game stinking it up, not making a single play all game long and when our team "gives up" we throw Patrick in there to take the rest of the hits.
The Skins did not put PR in the game to give us a chance to win but to be the end of the game whipping boy. That's pathetic and the whole team and I mean WHOLE team needs to tell him how SORRY they are. NOT ONE of them showed up today. There was not one single redskins player I have seen that showed up today ready to play...let along win. I'm a Gibbs is Great" guy but when a whole team doesn't show up it's in his lap for not having them ready to play. The giANTS ain't that great to beat us like that. We failed ourselves. Patrick got to be the late game sacrificial whipping boy. ~shakes head at the whole team Pack a lunch folks as we head to a pissed off Philly. peace mike

Re: Make a bed, lay in it.
Not sure what the point of this rant is.
When you're up big you pull your guys to not risk injury. Same goes for when you're down big and the game is out of reach, you pull the starters to not risk injury. |

Re: Make a bed, lay in it.
First off, this is the first I'm hearing about this. Between watching the game today and doing other things, this got by me.
I'll look everything over and address it soon. |

Re: Make a bed, lay in it.
I guess I wish Brunell would have stayed in there trying to win.
At what point does an army give up and start throwing in guys to be killed? NEVER. There was time to win IF a team showed up is my point. peace

Re: Make a bed, lay in it.
There was no way we were going to come back on the Giants today, that is the reason why Gibbs pulled Brunell. What good is it to keep Brunell in there and risk him getting injured (the way players were getting injured,) and then to have to go into our next tough games without 'em. It's not like we were only down by a couple TDs. If we couldn't get anything at all going in three quarters, how were we to comeback in this game in the fourth?

Re: Make a bed, lay in it.
May I quote YOU quoting Winston Churchill....
"Don't give up! Never, ever, give up!" So is your quote wrong? Gibbs is wrong not to follow it? Thanks in advance Don't give up! Never, ever, give up!!!!!!!

Re: Make a bed, lay in it.
The game was lost. Some times you have to face up and say, hey, it's not our day. You pull the starters and that's that. PR is the backup QB. That is his job.
Now we move on to next week and the eagles. That's life in the NFL.

Re: Make a bed, lay in it.
My quote is addressed to the season as a whole. Sometimes you have to realize the battle for that day is lost, so you regroup and live to fight another day. Again I ask, we keep Brunell in there and get him injured, then how does that help us down the stretch? It doesn't.

Re: Make a bed, lay in it.
That's yer "opinion".
I say let him stand by his playing. If he falls [more than sucking all game] we put the next guy in and try and win.

Re: Make a bed, lay in it.
man we were optimistic in the chat room saying that we could pull it off and even said that if we had a quarter like Doug williams had in the superbowl that we could score 35 points. THe problem with that is that 35 points wouldn't do it we needed 36 to tie. Next the giants could have taken 2 minutes off each drive minus one where we would use TOs so that is 6 two minute drives by the gints. That gives us 6 minutes to score 36 points. Its just not possible. I wish it was but it just is not.
We may have lost the battle but the war has yet to be decided. we needed to keep our players healthy for more battles |
