Let's Look at the Bright Side

It can't get worse than losing at home to the Raiders. Really, how low can you go? Oh, who I'm I kidding? The charitable gift giving of the Skins giving up the football will continue. Can we win out? Sure. Is it going to happen? Probably not. Is the season down the toilet? It depends if you see the glass half full or half empty. All in all we saw disgusting effort and play today.

Moma said there would be days like this.

p.s. I look forward to Portis' Thursday press conference.

Thats about all I look forward too these days. I wonder if he'll even do it after the performance today.

Look on the bright side: We only have to put up with this until Jan.

Yeah, can someone tell Portis to put the trans-gender fashion show on hold until he learns to stop fumbling the ball?

Maybe portis should put a as much effort into being a leader on this team as he does picking out his outfits.Gibss should put a stop to that nonsense. We need to start winning not making media statements.

Portis' fumbles killed us, so I hope he shows up at his Thursday press conferences as a tube of SuperGlue.

As for Brunell, he's played decent overall this year, but the sad thing is, because of Gibbs' decision to go with Burnell, we'll need to start all over at the QB position next year or in 2007 at the latest.

That's a great point. Brunell isn't going to last forever. So we can only hope that Jason Campbell is the second coming of Ben Roethlisburger. As much as I know we'll need young talent waiting in the wings at quarterback, it sure would have been nice to see a defensive end selected with the 24th pick.

Yes, a young, hungry defensive end would have been a godsend today and last weekend. It could get ugly next Sunday with no pressure on Brees and LT running wild.

From what I heard on the postgame show, this is Portis' first, well and second, fubble in all the games this year. After all the touches he gets, this isnt that bad. I agree tho it did kill us. If we didnt commit any turnovers, imagine how many games we wouldnt give away. Something like 9 games last year were divided by 6-7 or less. Take away the Giants game and most of the ones this year are the same way. If we completely eliminated turning the ball over, we'd probably win the superbowl, ok maybe not the superbowl, but at least a hell of a lot more games!

These are two fumbles he lost, the rest were recovered by the Skins.

Re: Let's Look at the Bright Side

The turnovers killed us. But, Portis' hands aren't what is costing us this season. It's defensive and offensive inconsistency. One week our defense is our soft spot (see last week) and the next week our offense is our weak spot (see this week).

Re: Let's Look at the Bright Side

5-5 has put the Skins in a very hard place. With James Thrash out (maybe) the passing game is going to look very similar to last season which is hard for everyone to watch. It seems like each week Moss is being double and triple teamed and we have nobody else, at the moment, that wants to step up and be the "true" number two guy. I watched the game over again and it seems like GW is gonna work the shit out of ST. Without ST there is no question in my mind, there would have been at least 35 points on the board for the Raiders. He is a very good player but having your safety make the play 6 times out of 10 is bad. They are the last line of defence.

Couple things that need to be done in my eyes. Stop sending CB's and LB's every other play on a blitz. It works the first half every week, but teams adjust at the half. WH is way too weak of a CB to be left alone
The 2nd thing, and I know everyone else has said it time and time again, we have no pass rush without Griffin. Collins had all friggin day back there and it showed. The few times there was a man in his face he made a bad play.

I think this team is good and could go on a miricle run the remaining six games but, until they get a couple things fixed you can look forward to a first round loss in the playoffs.

Until the Redskins are out for sure, I will continue my weekly tradition of pacing in front of the TV for 3hrs each gameday.

I don't think there's a person who won't watch the games....well, maybe there are. But it's just disappointing to see us lose again and again.
