Santana Moss Personal Foul

What was the call here?
Didn't see him head butt, kick the pylon or take his helmet off!
But I didn't see any real reason he was compaining about non calls.
Guess he got flagged for mouthing off?

Re: Santana Moss Personal Foul

Can't throw him out for bitching. You can call a 15 yarder on him though. I think we should see more of this league wide if you're calling it on Moss. Lotsa guys bitch, but there's also a league tendency to throw the late flag if a WR is bitching. Don't fault Moss for this penalty as he was doing what most competitive players do. Try to make an influence on the game.

Well that's crap. I think it is ridiculous that certain words would be not allowed. I also think it is ridiculous that the flag was called in the first place. He wasn't being overly demonstrative and embarrassing the ref so keep the flag in your pocket dumbass and do your job. Moss hasn't made a point to be confrontational with refs before so something leads me to believe that he felt there were calls not being made. Refs need to know when they are missing calls. We of all fans should know that by now.

For what? Doing what a vast amount of other players do? I am not saying it shouldn't be a penalty in theory. I am saying that it shouldn't be a penalty all of a sudden when it is basically allowed on a weekly basis by dozens of other players. Somehow the refs always find ways to screw us! Is it just me?

I think he means certain swear words will get you a flag. There's nothing wrong with that - it's perfectly reasonable. You can complain, but you have to be (somewhat) respectful.

Re: Santana Moss Personal Foul

Moss was being a bone-head during that stretch of the game. Just spillover frustration from not getting to catch too many balls or make too many plays over the last 3 games. He deserved the flag, plain and simple. You can argue or complain to the refs, but berating them?

To me, it didn't look like what most receivers do. Most receivers are like come on man, he was pushing me! Santana MOss was pointing and looking like he was pretty vicious. While none of us knows, thats just what it looked like to me.

Re: Santana Moss Personal Foul

He must have had some really choice words for the refs to bring on a 15-yard penalty.

He needed to blow off some steam, not a big deal since Hall nailed the FG anyway, but if he didn't...

Did you guys watch the game? he was clearly mugged by the d back and ref was standing right there and didn't call it. that's what he peeved about.it happened in the bronco/chief game too. lynch was peeved about something and went off on the refs.something need to be done about the refs. there's no and i mean no accountability what so ever and that is never a good thing.

They do review how the Ref's call games and the ones that do a better jod of making the calls or not making the calls gat to ref the bigger games. Does anyone know how often refs get fired or disciplined for bad play calling or is that an NFL secret.

Re: Santana Moss Personal Foul

Part of the problem is that these guys do this part time - they all have real jobs. There is just too much money at stake with these games not to have full time refs. What's another $15 million or so to pay these guys $100k per year? You could have 20 8-man crews and each club would be out $500k.
