Eagles: Reaping what they sew or did you feel sorry for them?

I honestly felt sorry for their TEAM last night. It was possibly the saddest thing I've ever seen. Forget them upsetting the Giants, that effort was pitiful.

As far as their fans however, it couldn't have happened to a nicer bunch...

I agree with the fans part - they are awful.

I'm not sure I feel bad about the team, though. I didn't feel bad for the 49ers when we rang up 52 on them. Of course, they managed to put a few on the board themselves.

There's no way I can feel sorry for a team that had so much success and pretty much owned the NFC East for 4 years. Watching their downfall is sweet justice.

I agree, no way we should feel sorry the Eagles and their arrogant fans. Furthermore, with the NFC east getting considerably better, I think their dominance is pretty much over.

Poor McNabb, who know when he'll see another Super Bowl now - I'm so glad!!
All of those NFC championships and no rings to show for it!!

I think my signature pretty much implies I don't feel sorry for them at all. TO is their own fault and they don't have a backup QB who can play. The Rams, Jags, Bears, Skins, and kinda the Dolphins are all playing different QB's than they anticipated right now and 4 of those 5 teams won this weekend. The Eagles won't get any sympathy from me.

As weird as it feels I thought the same things. I'm thrilled the fans are crushed, but I do feel sorry for the team. I always thought Andy Reid was a pretty good guy, and Donovan McNabb seemed to be a class act dealing with TO, so I do feel somewhat for a team that has gone from being in the NFC championship game 4 straight years to the pathetic shell of a team it is now.

With the exception of Dallas, I never really like to see a team get blown out and humiliated.

it was painful to see them get stomped like that.

feeling sorry, what?!!! It is sweet to watch these bitche$ take their rightful place at the bottom of the division again. Only team in the division not to win the super bowl in the super bowl era. What a wretched franchise! And don't even get me started on their pompous fans.

That said, I'm rooting for them to beat the Giants next week.

I don't feel sorry for them, I just see a win on the schedule on January 1!!! We should beat the Cards and the Eagles. The question is can we beat the Boys and the G-Men.

I just have this "Vikings syndrome" fear about the last game of the year. I'm nervous about going up against a team playing for pride with our own season on the line. That said, I don't see them doing much without McNabb and TO. If they had one or the other, then maybe, but they have no playmakers left.

Any idea why Westbrook didn't play that much last night? I don't remember him going out hurt, but I was just listening to it in bed.

If you're feeling sorry for the Eagles right now, go curl up under a warm blanket with a cup of hot tea, cuddled up next to your little puppy, and hunker down for the winter, because I henceforth forbid you from watching football.

There is no WAY we should be feeling sorry for them. They owned us for so many years and had chance after chance after chance to win it all.

I was laughing when the score was 21-0, but seriously, can you imagine being Detmer when he came in? I'd be like, "Um, coach. I'm hurt."

Oh how the mighty have fallen.

I thought I was a better person than this. But I dont feel one bit bad. I love watching the Eagles lose...especially after hearing it through 4 years of college in Philly.

And on a personal note, I loved how empty their stadium was by midway through the THIRD quarter. I got into an argument with an Eagles fan at this years home game about just that topic. Normally I ignore annoying people while waiting in line to get into the stadium, but when he called Skins fans a bunch of fairweather fans who only come to the games when we are winning, I had to jump in. I hope that idiot was sitting there freezing his a$$ off wondering where all of his "diehard" fans had gone!

Moral of the story: Skins fans rule!

Re: Eagles: Reaping what they sew or did you feel sorry for them?

The Eagles organization had become a smug bunch of jerks over the last few years. Management felt they could handle players however they chose and reap no ill-will or public consternation. For a team with the success they had and a players coach like Reid you didn't see players taking below market value deals to play there like in NE. That should tell you how players felt about the Eagles. Now it is coming back to bite them in the ass. They have neglected to add depth at key positions. Their one major free agent aquisition was a complete disaster. They have an overrated QB, no running game to speak of, zippy WRs and the most hateful assholes for fans in general. In short, no I don't feel bad for them. I hope they never win another game. I'd love if they went 0-16 next year and lost every game 42-0. I have said it before, watching the Eagles lose ranks second to only watching the skins win.
