Carlos Rogers is rookie of the week
I know this is kinda old, but Carlos Rogers earned rookie of the week honors for week 13 after his performance against St. Louis. I think he's been a bright spot for us, especially because of the poor play of Harris when he started. Here's the link.

Re: Carlos Rogers is rookie of the week
I am glad Rogers is stepping up and is getting recognized for it.
Despite Harris' poor play the last few weeks, remember - he is the guy who made the 4th down play in Dallas to seal the deal down there. |

Congrats to Carlos Rogers!
We spell team in DC as TEAM. Harris or Rogers or Springs or Clark or Taylor or Bowen or Jimoh. Secondary is important and this weekend it'll be most important.

Re: Carlos Rogers is rookie of the week
With Rodgers in there our defense has forced INTs for the last three weeks which is something that was non-existent with Walt Harris who I here is injured again and is questionable for Arizona.

Re: Carlos Rogers is rookie of the week
I think he earned it with his play last week (not that I know what any other rookie has done lately).

Daniels and Wynn are actually sort of effective when we have two good corners in there. When we get a pass rushing d lineman, Carlos will be picking balls all over the place.

Re: Carlos Rogers is rookie of the week
I was going to make a new thread, but I'll just add my comment to this one. I'll admit, I was one of the people who was disappointed with Rogers play this season, but if the last few weeks are any indication of the player he is going to become in the future, I'll happily eat my words.
I was extremely impressed with his play yesterday. His coverage skills are improving, and he tackles as well as any corner in the league in my opinion, but what has impressed me recently is the wood he has been laying on opposing receivers. He's delivered a few shots over the past few weeks that have made me say "Ouch!" out loud, including one on Boldin yesterday, that made Sportcenters "Extreme Highlight". There are very few corners in the league that fall into the "hard hitting" category. I'm hoping he can continue to improve his coverage ability, but still keep the hard hitting mentality. If so, he'll be an intimidating presence like Sean Taylor. |

Re: Carlos Rogers is rookie of the week
Initially I thought it was Taylor that layed the wood on Boldin.
Rogers is a big hitter for a CB. |

You ain't kidding, when I first saw him this year I figured if he couldn't cut it as a CB, he would make a very good saftey. The guy has an explosive first step he looks like he may be better than advertised, I was getting a little worried there early on, but he has really come on big time the last 3 or 4 games. |
