Antonio Brown...wildcard?

It looks rather ominous for us against Dallas. They're playing to make the playoffs (as are we), and have sore memories of the MNF loss. No way they will come out flat for this one. Seems unlikely that Parcells will get swept in the regular season by Gibbs....unless...

Besides the 92,000 rabid fans, the only one thing I can think of that could be a wildcard is A. Brown. I can see him take the opening kickoff to the house, and Fedex would go nuts. Don't know if he has finally learned to catch the ball on the run, but I wish Gibbs is planning on incorporating him into some offensive packages as well. He will surely get open. Dallas can't game plan for Brown when they are focussed on shutting down Moss and Portis. All they can do is hope he drops it. As far as we're concerned, Brown is 50-50. So what? So was Rod Gardner, and we used him in our offense over the last 4 years.

I'm sure Dallas hasn't forgotten the loss at home, but we are playing for our playoff lives. They are too, but they CAN afford to drop a game.

I'll be one of the 92,000 and it won't be crowd noise that lets the Skins down I'll tell you that.

We need to be working on a new "wrinkle" in our offense. DAL knows about Moss now. They know we want to run the ball and occasionally dump it off to Cooley in the flats. How about using the ol' flea flicker against Parcells again? How about showing four-WR formations (with Antonio Brown) and mixng up the run and pass? DAL has had tricks up their sleeves since Parcells arrived. We need to have ours.

Couldn't have said it better. Dallas has burned us w/ some good playcalling/wrinkles in the past. We need to show them some different looks as well.

Hmmm. That sounds like postgame hogwash for a loss against DAL. No perfectly executed play guarantees positive yards or points when your gameplan is too conservative. Aim for the pylons Gibbs, not just the sticks!

There is truth in your forked tongue kimosabe. However, you can aim wherever you want, no execution=no points. Jerry Rice made the HOF on one play. Is there anyone who hasn't heard of counter tre'. Great execution and it couldn't be stopped. The only point is, even if the D knows what your going to do, blow em' off the ball and run it till' they can stop it (whatever it might be). Check out the Warpath Q&A with Tony Mcgee. I agree with him, it's not so much about playcalling at this point as it is execution.

Re: Antonio Brown...wildcard?

I'm not at all convinced that Antonio Brown is a wildcard or "gamechanger" just because he had one nice kickoff return. I mean, the wedge cleared out every tackler for him - all he had to do was run straight ahead. That's it! No fancy moves - just "run, forrest, run!" Hell, Derrick Dockery could've run back that kickoff...

Jimmy Farris was running along side of him the whole way AND blocking and looked a whole lot faster than Brown. Hmmmm... maybe that's because Ahole Brown was blowing kisses from the 30 yard line. Can't say I'm too impressed with that crap!

If he gets a few more good returns this week AND doesn't cough the ball up - I may start to give him some credit. But a "special weapon" he ain't.

Farris is not even close to Brown in terms of straight foot speed. And what was wrong with him blowing a kiss to the crowd? There wasn't a defender within 20 yards of him.

be aggressive from the start.i would be willing to try just about anything at this point in the season heck go for it ,afterall we have the whole season riding on this game.and i think dallas even knows it too so why not go for broke but do it at a key moment in the game.execution has to be there for the remainder of the season not just this game.

Re: Antonio Brown...wildcard?

A.Brown *IS* a wildcard.

he could take one to the house, or muff another one inside the 10. blowing kisses before a play is over is already proof he can't be counted on. he could change the game *either* way.

i think it's definitely best to say we shouldn't need to be thinking about him at ALL, because the game will be firmly hand by the other team members.

Re: Antonio Brown...wildcard?

I loved the blowing kisses to the fans.

It wasn't over the top like other celebrations we're seeing from the likes of Chad Johnson.

Re: Antonio Brown...wildcard?

Question. How would you draw double coverage away from Moss? Line Cooley up wide on the opposite side? Or how about Farris? Brunell never looks his way. And Jacobs isn't feared by any DB in this league and he even doubts his own ability to get open! If Gibbs can use Sean Taylor on offense as a decoy, why not Antonio Brown? Oh yeah. Taylor was in there mainly to block, as was Thrash. You guys are kidding yourselves if you think we run the ball as well as KC. Where are we ranked in rushing offense? The reason the team wants to run the ball is that they feel there is less room for error (turning the ball over) not that they run the ball exceptionally well consistently.

KC is number 4 at 142 yards/rushing per game (4.4 per carry). Skins are number 5 at 131 yards/rushing per game (4.2 per carry).

And what's wrong with wanting to run to not turn the ball over, control the clock, manage the tempo of the game, utilize arguably our best player?
