Giants' MLB Pierce May Sit Out Rest of Season

I read this on ESPN.com:

Giants middle linebacker Antonio Pierce, who suffered a high ankle sprain in last week's victory over the Philadelphia Eagles and who did not practice all week, will not play in the Saturday matchup against the Chiefs. And there are concerns, as Pierce continues to wear a walking boot on his right foot, that the Giants' leading tackler could be sidelined for the rest of the regular season.

Pierce is the linchpin of the Giants' defense. Without Pierce, I fully expect the Giants to get run over this Saturday by Larry Johnson and the Chiefs.

I also expect next week's Redskins-Giants matchup in D.C. to be a close one. In my opinion, if we win this Sunday, we have a damn good chance to go 3-0 the rest of the way and squeak into the playoffs.

If we win Sunday. The O line has to keep Brunnel protected and the D line has to get pressure on Bledsoe. I am confident the Cowpies will have very little success running and that Portis and crew will have moderate to good success. But If Bledsoe can just sit back there untouched for most of the plays we are in trouble and our season is all but over.

I'd say if we end the regular season on a five game winning streak we'd be roaring into the playoffs!

But first things first:

If we go 3-0 the rest of the way, we won't "squeak" into the playoffs...We'll win the division and may even get a 1st round bye.

i think pierce's absence is negated by the chief's tackling...

Actually, they didn't beat us, we beat ourselves in that game. KC was our best shot at the Giants stumbling. Now we need to win out and knock a few guys out in the Giants game so Oakland can beat them. At least Oakland has had good luck in the NFC East this year.

I expected it, too. He did run all over them, but Tiki was a beast and the D tightenned up when called upon. The stop on 3rd and goal from the 1 was a thing of beauty. I was at the game, unfortunately I was sitting on the other end of the stadium for that play.

The Chiefs defense still sucks ass. Thanks a lot, KC.
