Week 17: Games of interest
I got this info from a Skins Blog (http://theredskinreport.blogspot.com/).
Games that concern the Redskins: NY Giants at Oakland Carolina at Atlanta New Orleans at Tampa Bay Washington at Philadelphia St. Louis at Dallas Tiebreaker Formulas: Division Tiebreakers (that apply to the Redskins): 1) Head to Head (2-0 vs. Dallas) 2) Division Record (Win vs. Philly, Wash 5-1, NYG 4-2) Conference Ties 1) Division Tiebreakers 2) Head to Head Games (Washington 0-1 vs. Tampa Bay) 3) Conference Record (Wash 9-2; TB 8-3; NYG 8-4; Car 7-4, Dal 7-4) 4) Common Games (Minimum of 4) 5) Strength of Victory (Washington takes this one easily) 6) Strength of Schedule (Washington again takes this easily) Washington finishes 4th in the conference if: Washington wins NY Giants loses The Skins would host: Tampa Bay: If Carolina wins, Tampa Bay loses, and Dallas loses. Carolina: If Carolina wins and Tampa Bay wins. NY Giants: If Carolina and Tampa Bay both lose. Dallas: If Dallas wins and Carolina wins and Tampa Bay loses or Dallas wins, Carolina loses, and Tampa Bay wins Washington finishes 5th in the conference if: Washington wins. NY Giants wins. Carolina loses. The Skins would then travel to: Tampa Bay: if Tampa Bay loses. NY Giants: If Tampa Bay wins. Washington finishes 6th in the conference if: Washington wins NY Giants wins Carolina wins OR Washington loses Dallas loses And the Skins would then travel to play: Tampa Bay: If Tampa Bay wins. NY Giants: If Giants win and Tampa Bay loses. Carolina: If Washington loses, Giants lose, Tampa Bay loses.

Re: Week 17: Games of interest
I want the Giants and Bucs to lose, and the Panthers to win. I think that would possibly put us against the Bucs at home, where we would destroy them. Then in the second round, we'd play Chicago, who's offense doesn't have anything for us, and we have a lot of ties to Chicago as well personnel wise.

Re: Week 17: Games of interest
Beat Philly and let the rest fall into place. It doesn't matter if the Skins are the division champions, have a home game or play Tampa Bay or the Giants on the road, as long as they are in the playoffs.

Re: Week 17: Games of interest
The Giants are by no means a lock to win this week.
I'll say again: Eli Manning has "officially" won two road games in his career. One was against the Niners this year (which isn't that difficult), and the other was the Saints game that was moved to the Giant's home in the Meadowlands.

I wonder how many teams (besides baltimore a few years ago) have won a SuperBowl after being a wild card team? |

I want us to win the division so I can go to a HOME PLAYOFF GAME. Man that sounds so sweet.

I think the Raiders won a Superbowl way back in the 70s when they beat the Eagles from the Wildcard position. |

Re: Week 17: Games of interest
I'd love a home playoff game but I am not greedy. Let's just get in this year and be happy for that.

We shouldn't be afraid of playing any team in the NFC! I just think it would be a great
accomplishment to win the division. |
