If the Seahawks released Matt Hasselback should the Skins make a run at signing him?

I think there was a year (2004) where Brunell was playing through an arm injury, and then he hurt his knee late in 2005, but I don't see where his arm just stopped working. I mean, even this year in the preseason for NO, he's still got a lot of zip on the ball.

He started 37 games here, including the 2005 playoffs, and very rarely was a lack of arm strength ever an issue, if I remember correctly. Last I remember the guy was setting completion records while Brandon Lloyd was on the field running God-knows-what.

And yeah, isn't Hasselbeck's back injury every bit as bad as whatever Brunell had that forced him out of Jacksonville (Leftwich-itis?)

MB never threw the ball more than 5 yds. I'm sure almost anybody can zip a 5 yd pass. Like I said, I dont think the Skins should sign MH. He's not the answer to the Skins problems at QB.

I think you and I have a different definition of 'never', or perhaps '5 yards' but either way, it's still somewhat dumb to use the absence of an event for proof of the contrary.

But yeah, I see Hasselbeck as a guy in decline, and he can probably hang on for 5 more years in the NFL, but I don't think he'll play like he did in 2005 anytime in the near future. Perhaps in a more powerful offense, he could be successful.
