I can't exercise a whole lot right now either. I have a degenerative back condition. I am phase 2 of 3 phases with a lower disk problem. Phase 3 is disability. I've been in pain for years, but here lately it's been a lot worse so I have to see a chiropractor 2-3 times a week. So the only way to lose weight right now is to stop the intake of food. It's working. My goal is to get down to under 220. Under 200 is too much for me...I have a very large frame, so I'd look anorexic.

My playing weight was around 180lbs. When my daughter died back in Jan of 2004, I was 183lbs. Amazing how quick the weight can pile on. I had less than 5% body fat, now I'd be surprised if I was less than 50% body fat. lol. So how did you lose the weight?

Re: ketchup or no ketchup
I've lost 20 or so lbs. I was up around 285 and now down to 260 or so... I've stopped eating junk altogether... During the day I'll eat a yogurt with a sprinkle of granola, 2 or 3 oranges, and 1 or 2 packs of peanut butter crackers. Then I'll eat dinner around 5 or 6 pm... just whatever we decide to have... but instead of having 3 or 4 pieces of pizza, for instance, I'll have one and eat it slow... see where it takes me, you know?
I had such a huge appetite when I was playing football and soccer... and even before I had kids I was still active playing sports with friends after work or on the weekends... now the family life has proven to be much more sedentary (with little ones, anyway) and I have to really watch what I eat... .... and drink (as I sip on a guinness lol...)

I've been doing the cambridge diet. The shakes are not as tasty as they say, but I gotta do something.

Re: ketchup or no ketchup
As much as I'd like to do a liquid diet, I'd never stick to it. I've managed to lose almost 10lbs in 3 months through just diet and exercise. Not a whole lot. But it's a start I suppose. For me it's pretty good considering I'm the type of person who gets seriously depressed if I don't see immediate results (Which is of course, highly unlikely)
I stopped going to the gym over Spring Break. Which was about 2 weeks with no 3-4 days a week of exercise but I managed to keep the weight off. I'm back to the gym tomorrow. Wish me luck!
