Well said Los Panda! Another thing is knowing how well the players fit their system, which Snyder never considered in the Vinny days. He would swoon over a big name and never considered if they ever played in the coaches style of attack. Adam Archuleta was a well known name but had no experience playing in the defensive schemes Gregg Williams employed. What a shock he didn't replicate the same level he did in his previous team?

The Patriots and Steelers have more hits than misses and The Bengals are very good at drafting players, to the point they eschew free agents(though Mike Brown not wanting to spend money has a lot more to do with that than anything). And though Shanahan was bad at drafting almost every other position he knew what to look for in runningbacks come draft day. He never missed in that position.
